I've really been falling in love with Mae names. Mabel and Maisie have both been on my list for a while but Mike dislikes them. I also love Maeve but he's disliked that since forever. I thought of suggesting Maeva, but I don't he'd go for it. But I feel like a Mae name would make an awesome sibling for Archer.

Anyway. I'm still keeping all three on my personal list and searching for middle names for Maisie... I've also got three new Mae names I'm loving and would love opinions on!

Maelie / Maylie

The first is the original spelling. Its a french name, apparently trendy over in france ATM according to Nameberry. It can technically be pronounced as either "may-lee" or "Miley", but I personally much prefer "may-lee". I'm not sure if I prefer the original spelling or not as I feel its got a lot of vowels smooshed together. I guess this names related to saint "Mael" though. Maelie means "princess" though.

Maelys

Another french name. Meaning "chief" or "prince". Also a variant of saint Mael. I'm not sure if I love it or not, in a sense I do but I'm not sure if it feels choppy.

Maella / Mayella

Yep, another French name variant of saint Mael ;) Who'd of thunk? I want to love it, but I'm also having some reservations. I love Ella names, I love Mae names. Technically Maella would be mah-ella, but I don't love of Mayella looks. I'm unsure on this one.

I've been toying with some middle names for Maisie as well.

Maisie Carolyn

Maisie Violet

Maisie Victoria

Maisie Abigail

Maisie Anabel

Maisie Dahlia (I want to love it as I'm severely crushing on the name Dahlia, but theres too much ee!)

Maisie Aurora

Maisie Elizabeth

I'm not in love with the Maisie combos though. I'm struggling. I'm opened to suggestions there too!

I like Mabel and Maeve.  Maisie is cute, but nms.  Maybe Maisie Delilah...  I don't know , I'm not very good with combos.  I'm really glad that you pronounce Maylie or Maelie like May-lee, and not Miley.  In my opinion, that would not be a good namesake.  Maylie/Maylie isn't my style.  Mabel Clementine seems perfect imo.

Mabel Caroline, maybe? I think I remember you saying Mike likes Caroline, but I'm not for sure. Mabel Violet, Mabel Aurora... Also Maisie Annabelle.

I love the name Mae just by itself <3 But I also like Maisie (which is sadly off limits for me), Maeve & Maeva. Maelie is kinda cute. I also like the suggestion of Maisie Delilah! So pretty :)

Maelie / Maylie - I'm not sure how I feel about this name as of yet. I love the Mae part, and I think of the two spellings my favourite is the first, Maelie, but I much prefer Mae over May anyhow. It has a princessy feel to it, and I can see it as a sister to Archer.

Maelys - This one might have to grow on me too, but I do love how it looks. Archer and Maelys sound lovely together.

Maella / Mayella - I want to like this one, but I agree with you on the spellings, and Mayella just reminds me of a character from To Kill A Mockingbird. The sound is nice, but the association, for me, isn't great. I also think it sounds a little too frilly, and I don't know how I like it with Archer.

Maisie Caroline would be cute, or Maisie Clementine.

I love a lot of the names you listed!  It's a shame Mike isn't fond of Maeve, Mabel, and Maisie... do you think perhaps he would like Margaret with the nickname Maisie?  Just a thought.  I also really like Maeva; you should definitely suggest that to him!

Maelie is very cute (I prefer this spelling to Maylie; it seems more French, less trendy).  It does seem a bit too close to Miley though, in my opinion.

I'm not sure I'm too fond of Maelys... I think it could work; I just don't love it as much as your other options.

Upon first glance, I would probably pronounce Mayella and Maella the same, as May-ell-uh.  While I prefer the spelling Maella, I think it could potentially be mispronounced as "mae-luh".  Not sure if this is an issue for you.

Other "Mae" names I've heard:

Maelle (may-elle)

Mamie (nickname for Miriam, Margaret, etc.?)

Maeby (too close to Maybe?)

Aw I like Maelys Aurora <3 Cute! I love Caroline, unfortunately Mike "hates" it, though he loves Carolyn  <_< I think it makes a great middle name for any of these though. I really like <3

Meghan, Margaret "Maisie" is a fabulous suggestion though he dislikes Margaret :( He's a stinker. I love Margaret though.

I want to like Maeby, but it is too close to maybe :/ Maebry is interesting though. Something to ponder on.. I've decided to definitely drop Maella / Mayella, I'm not really digging it. But Maelie is really growing on me, and Maelys is sweet. I love it.
