[Primrose]

So I just finished the last book in the Percy Jackson Series the other day and I've been thinking about mythology ever since. I got this idea in the car today but I have no names! I don't have everything worked out but this is what I have so far.

Summary: What if only the Greek gods' spirits were immortal?
Every generation the spirits of the god inhabit people. These people will exhibit some characteristics of they god and they may share some of the same fears and talents. These will be prominent their entire lives but they might not realize that they are a god. If they acknowledge it, then they will also gain the powers of the god on their sixteenth birthday.
The gods' had bodies up until the fall of the Greek empire. When they became spirits that inhabit people, Apollo (God of Prophecy) first inhabitant gave this prophecy.

In every age they must unite,
If not they shall most definetly lose the fight.
The will of some may prove too strong
and Olympus's fall again may come.
A leader will rise up when it's time
and defend what matters most before the end.

(I know, it's terrible and I'll probably re-write it but for now it stays.)

Anyway, fast forward to present day. Small town PA, Pippa(?) has had strange things happen all of her life but has always gotten out because of her wits. What will she do when she is suddenly swept away by a centaur and everything changes?

If I don't have a name at all I put the god or goddess's name.


Penelope(?) Ann(?) nn. Pippa(?)- Athena. 15 years old. She has long black hair and bright green eyes. About 5 foot tall. She is very intelligent and always has a plan even if it's the fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants plan. She loves to learn and has always done well in school. She was always different from her family and ends up begging to go to a boarding school. An amazing fighter. Originally from Ohio.

Edit: Aoibheinn (prn. EE-vin) nn. Aoibh (EE-v) - She has white-blonde hair and violet eyes. Is kind and worries a lot. Is very mothering to Pippa.

Aphrodite- 15 years old. Long, blonde hair and sparkling blue eyes. She has super model good looks and is very tall. Loves to wear skirts and dresses. She is very steriotypical Aphrodite. She is from Conneticut. Many people underestimate her but she is quick and intelligent. She is an amazing archer. Her parents are very wealthy and don't really pay attention to her.

Zeus- 16 years old. Short, sandy brown hair and grey eyes. He is tall with broad shoulders. Kind but easily angered. A natural leader. He usually acts before he thinks but can work himself back out of trouble. He is best with a spear. He was orphaned a few years before and bounced from foster home to foster home. Originally from South Dakota.

Poseidon- 15 years old. Shaggy, Blonde hair and sea-foam green eyes. Tall with long limbs. He loves to surf. Originally from California. He is always tan and never wears anything but shorts and t-shirts. Carefree and laid-back. Protective of the other kids.

Hades- 16 years old. Stereotypical Hades. He has black hair that hangs into his dark brown eyes. He is moody and dark. Originally from New York City. Dresses in black the majority of the time. Has a bad habit of sneaking up on people.

These will probably be the main characters but I might need other names.

What do you think of Aoibh's name? Is it too weird?

Also for Athena do you prefer Penelope nn. Pippa or Allegra nn. Ally?

Athena- Ally is my name so i'm gonna go with Allegra. Alyce would also be cute. Alyce Penelope????

Aoibh (sp?)- Seems a bit overboard but maybe Siobhan or Tyllesse would be less ummmm... different

Aphrodite- thinking more of a beauty name, maybe Lillianna or Victoria or Annaleigh?

Zeus- maybe Logan, Quentin, Rogan????

Poiseden- Alistair, Dillon (means water in ?), Troy (means sea in Greek)

Hades- Cain, Dennys, Nolan

Thanks Ally! Aoibh's name is supposed to be odd. It's the way of the centaur's in the story. They all have very long Irish names.

I like some of these but none of them are really jumping out at me.

Aoibh is kinda weird, you'd have to keep a pronunciation thing at the front of the book cause people would get massively confused
