[The Future Mrs B]

Lurking around on behindthename I found Siofra (SHEE-fra) and surprisingly Martin likes it.
Right now I have Siofra Summer and Siofra Jane on my list.
Opinions?

Not a huge fan of the name itself, I think of She-Ra from the old cartoon show but combined with Summer and Jane the edge is taken off and it gives it a calmer feel (If that makes sense hahaha)

I never watched the He-man cartoon but Martin did. Which may be why it didn't sound weird to him.
It makes sense. I go from loving it to being iffy. I know there will be a normal middle name to fall back on but I'm not totally sold.

Sorry :c not a fan of it, the sound seems grading to me and I find She at the beginning of a girls name kinda weird, sort of like naming a boy 'Guy' even though Siofra has more than -She in it, that seems like the prominent part. If it were pronounced See-fra I'd like it a lot better, reminds me of Saffron with that pronunciation.

I kind of like it. I can see it being usable, I guess I just don't appeal to the sound myself. Siofra Jane sounds absolutely lovely though. I don't care for Siofra Summer, purely cause I dislike alliteration in names.

Not a huge fan. It really reminds me of Roisin (they both have that "she") sound, but neither name I'm really fond of. I think having a more "normal"/substantial middle name would definitely help though. Of the two you listed, I like Siofra Summer better. Is Siofra Irish?
It's definitely not a bad name, but it's not a personal fav either.
I agree with what coyote19 said: I would like it better too if it were pronounced "SEE-fra".

I agree, See-fra would have made it a little nicer on the tongue than SHEE-fra but with names like Summer and Jane it does tone down the harshness a bit.

I like Siofra, quite a bit actually! And the more I say it and read it the more I like it! Siofra Summer is a little too S orientated for my liking but I sometimes have a lisp (too many S words in a row muddle me up) and lisps sort of run in my family so I tend to stay away from overly 'S'y names. Siofra Jane however is a lot safer for me to say!

Thanks guys! Dorcas, I totally understand the S thing. I can't say anything with an 'R' preceded by a vowel. My boyfriend's name goes out Mawtin 90% of the time. It is 'S' heavy but Summer isn't going anywhere. I agree See-fra does sound better but I wouldn't want to change the pronounciation of a name.
Any suggestions? I'll take anything because Martin & I can't agree on anything.
