So maybe we're a bit crazy. My husband, Leif Simeon Porter and I (Esmeralda Mahalia Porter) have thirteen children, three daughters and ten sons. Okay, we're more than a bit.
We started dating when we were 14 years old and things went from there. We got married shortly after graduating high school and lept into college. By the time we were 25 we figured we ought to start having kids. After 2 years of no luck we turned to fertility treatmens and had three amazing boys, Alessandro Lance, Matteo Garrison and Francisco March.
Life was crazy with three toddlers running around and both of us just starting our jobs (me as a pediatric doctor and Leif as a criminal lawyer) but it was worth it. Somewhere in the chaos we concieved our fourth little terror, Feodore Olaf who was born a month shy of my 31st birthday.
Our next surprise, Emilian Bertram, came just 10 months after Feodore; wherever our issues went when we tried to get pregnant before the triplets were gone. By now we'd resigned ourselves to our crazy life of having five boys. Soon after the triplets 5th birthday they all started asking when the next baby would be here. Feodore was just now old enough to be able to really be entertaining to them and Emilian was smoothly walking but wasn't much of a playmate. Leif was absolutely firm that there would be no more babies but he came around when it was Cisco's christmas list. Maybe I'd finally get the daughter I'd given up on ever getting.
Now little girl but Henrik Pax came into the world as the loudest of our boys on Feo's 3rd birthday. We drove a passanger van, had six boys and three of them were still in car seats. This time I was done, I swore it. It didn't last long. A little over a year later I was pregnant again, this time expecting twins. Surprise! I had more than just twins, I had another set of triplets. Identical twins, William Sky and Charles Atlas had conviently hidden their little sister, Julia Calypso.
We started seperating the children into sets; the older set being the oldest triplets, the middle set being the three singles and the younger set being the new babies. Two years later we decided to take a trip to Ireland to visit my grandparents, guess who forgot their birth control one late night. That resulted in our only set of twins, Keith Xerxes and Colleen Nyx.
By now it was Julia begging, "Mommy, Leen and I want a sister. Please?" The begging was incessant. Being close to 40 I figured that there was no way I'd be pregnant again. Sure enough, I was wrong. Manet Olympia born on Christmas the following year was next but she wasn't the last. Oh now, a dozen wasn't enough. We had to have the baker's dozen.
What I thought was premenopause wasn't and out came Conan Barnaby, last child; named by the oldest set who had a love for Conan the Barbarian.

My name is Tamsin Abilene Mercer, and I’m married to Jasper Morrison Mcrory. We currently live in Florence, Italy. When I was younger, I joined the U.S. Coast Guard so I could see the world.
