Hey!
So, I am very much pregnant with my first child, who, we have discovered, is a boy!!! Unfortunately, my husband and I have no idea what to name him. My name is Margaret and my husband's name is Nikolai (he is actually of Polish descent). We want something long-ish, with good nickname opportunities. Names that we considered are: Augustine, Matthias, Alexander, Samuel.

Augustine is awesome -- I would definitely use that! You might also consider Bartholomew, if you want a long name.
