Dear name genie, I need to name my niece as per our tradition. I asked my brother for any preference he said it should start with the alphabet F as his wife's name is Flama and the name should include J as my brother's name is John, now I need a 1st name for the girl child which starts from F and has J in it also my family name is Mascarenhas. Please advice, also the name should have some positive meaning if possible. Please help name genie

The only girl names that fit that description are:

Freja/Freyja (pronounced FRAY-ah, the same as Freya)

Felicja (I think, in English, this could be pronounced either feh-LEE-sha or feh-LEE-syah)

Floortje (Dutch name, pronounced FLOR-tya)

These are all tricky to deal with in the English-speaking world. For something easier, I'd recommend using a first name starting with F and a middle name that's a form of John.

Maybe I should include meanings.

Freja/Freyja means "lady."

Felicja means "fortunate."

Floortje means "flower" or "prosperous."

might I suggest Fajra Jane? "Fajra" means "fiery" in Esperanto, and having the J in the middle name as well makes it flow very nicely.
