I want to be an author one day, so my fingers are crossed. I also enjoy dance and hanging out with my friends.

The story itself, or the idea of it rather, was much better than the way it was written. Bella is stupid. She's a weak character who can't choose one side or the other to save her life (almost literally.) I'd have to say I like Edward better than Jacob, but Edward can be creepy sometimes. The movie was terrible.

I'm sorry and I don't mean to be rude, but I actually agree with Kodie. I think Caitlin was rude first. Its not right to insult something that people obviously are very passionate about. Evie didn't ask if we liked it or hated it, she was just looking for other people to chat about the books with. Thumbs down to Caitlin.

Technically, Caitlin was expressing her opinion on the book. If Evie wants to talk about Twilight, she should (as Caitlin pointed out) go to Twilight related blogs. I myself do not like or hate the books or movies. They are obviously meant for younger girls, so my child being a teenager demand that I too read them. Evie, Twilight Lexicon is a good place if you want to talk about Twilight.

The topic wasn't asking for negative opinions, Evy. It was targeted toward those who enjoy the books. If you don't have something nice too say, don't say ANYTHING.

Now see, I didn't say anything mean. I don't absolutley adore the books, they are good. However, I'm being neutral here when I say that Caitlin just wanted to point out the obvious. She didn't say it in any inappropiate way, so I dont see how she's beind 'rude'.
Just for fun's sake, I would have to say my favorite characters are Emmett and Jacob.

It was rude of Caitlin to say such terrible things about something we obviously love. I don't think any of us would have done that to her.

Although I've only read the first book because the rest aren't translated yet, but I think that the book has a lovley idea, but I don't really like the way it was written. Bella is such an annoying character, and from the first book I think Edward is TOO perfect. I understand that he suppose to be like that, but it's quite too much. Though the movie wasn't that great (Bad, bad casting. Kirsten Dunst has only one expression and Roberet Pattinson is better indeed, but I can't stand him. Plus, Carlisle's make up was horrible).
I like the book, don't get the impression I don't. And I'm sure the plot gets better in the next books, but that's what I think on the first one. Maybe it's just the bad translation...

For the rest of the series, the plot stays pretty much the same: Edward saves Bella, Edward loves Bella, Bella loves Edward. The actress that played Bella is the movie is Kristen Stewart though. I agree that Edward is *too* perfect. I've had a hard time convincing my daughter that guys like him are extremely hard to find and that even then you don't have to depend solely on him. I do wish that the author had given Bella a bit more of a backbone but other than that, I think she did a wonderful job at relating to teenage girls.

Oops, my mistake. Too many Kirstens. But I do think that Kirsten Stewart has only one expression. (Twilight in the other day and "The Devil's Arithmetich" with Dunst right after it. Brr.)
So the base stays the same, but I hope the writing gets better. Oh, and personlaity for both Edward and Bella. Seriously, I'd read the book only for Carlisle and Esme.

Hehe, I agree that Kristen is a fairly popular name nowadays. And the whole 'Kristen Stewart has only one expression' made me laugh so much! I've only ever seen her in Twilight and an older movie of hers named 'Speak' (Awesome book and great movie!). And even though she was younger, her expressions are definetly the same!

Belliole, I wish I could tell you the writing, Bella and Edward change somewhat in the rest of the series but they dont! Like the plot, the characters stay the same as does the writing. Carlisle and Esme were great characters.

I saw another movie with Stewart, "Just Speak" or "Speak", something like that. Oh god, she even has one expression there! And it supposed to be a drama-drama movie with a girl who was raped and she can't find the words to express herself about that. And the part is full of espressions, and she has the same one for the whole movie! Bluh.

And bummer. Not a little bit? Neh, I guess I would read it anyway.

I've finished the series (mainly because of my daughter). If you sort of liked the first book, you will find the next three bearable. Who knows, you might even enjoy them. Everyone's taste in literature changes.

Sorry I'm a hater. I don't get it. I read the whole series so I liked finding out what was about to happen and stuff. I just didn't enjoy them. Sorry. I totally agree with the person before me. Although I'm definitely Jacob. I HATED Edward. I don't know why...he was just bland. Most of the characters are. I like the names though, Rosalie, Edward(not the Vampire) Jaspar.......
