Luna has been a long time favorite of mine for many years, but I always thought it was unusable because of the Harry Potter connection.

Being a Harry Potter nerd, I know that the Luna connection isn't exactly bad, cause she's a pretty cool character!

Even so, do you think Luna is a little bit too "out there"? Does it look very try hard?
And lastly..Is it too similar to my older daughters name, Elena?

Be as brutally honest as possible..Luna is my top pick right now so speak or forever hold your silence!

Thanks for any feedback!

I kinda like Luna, in a way. Its kinda neat, and sweet.

But it is much too close to Elena in my opinion

I love the name Luna, it's super cute! When I was younger I used to like the name Nova. lol.

But, it does sound similar to Elena... Maybe you could use it as her middle name?

I'm not familiar with it from Harry Potter, having never seen or read that yet. The first 4 things I think of when I hear Luna:
1.The woman my husband met on a phone dating service, before WE met on that service. She was willing to drop everything and move cities to be with him, having never *met* him. Uh. Wuh?
2.The cat on Sailor Moon (not a bad thing really, Luna was cool)
3.The moon on Bear in the Big Blue House (again, not a bad association)
4. Crazy. Loonie. etc.

So....if you're into standing out and being kind of 'different' on purpose, use it. If you're not really like that, don't. That's how I'd look at it.

I love Luna Lovegood. I think it's usable as well. It's different but not out there in the realm of Moon Unit Zappa.
Do you pronounce Elena as Elle-Ana or All-A-na like Alaina? Either way if you really love it I think it could work. Not everyone is mentioned in the same sentence as their sibling(s) for their entire lives.

Elena and Luna are way to similar in my opinion.. :/

I like Adasyn's suggestion of using it as a middle name though
