Girls names are turning out to be a lot harder for us than boys names because he likes old fashioned names and I tend to like more unique names. Thankfully there are a few names that we agree on and we're both trying to be open to what the other one likes.
The baby's last name will be Zeilsen.
Anyway, here's our list! Sorry it's so long!

Eliminate names that you can't see yourself using!

I would eliminate
Allegra, its an allergy medicine.
Minerva, doesnt even sound like a name.
Susanna, very dated
Gwyneth, very dated
Lorna, dated & not very pretty

My favorites:
Tessa
Arabella
Audra
Cambria
Paisley
Gemma

That's a pretty rude, unfair, and ignorant assessment of those names. I don't understand how you find Susanna and Gwyneth "dated" but suggest names like Lucille and Agnes. What?!

Minerva is the name of the Roman goddess of poetry, medicine, wisdom, commerce, weaving, crafts, and magic. Pretty cool, and a legit name.

Your immaturity really shines through on this reply.

Thanks for the help everyone!

After looking through our list again (and a little bit of give and take with possible middle name options) we have narrowed down the list a little bit. The names that we both really like are marked with a *

Adria*
Araminta
Adair
Allegra
Ariella
Audra*
Cambria
Cecelia*
Cordelia
Dorothy*
Eleanor
Florence nn. Flora*
Gemma
Gwyneth*
Isadora
Jessamine*
Lorna*
Louisa
Lucille*
Minerva*
Miriam*
Philippa
Susanna

What do you guys think of Florence with the nickname Flora? Nick is in love with it and it's growing on me but I worry that the other names on our list don't really fit with it. Anyone have combo ideas to go with Florence? They don't have to be on our list, just anything that you like the sound of with Florence.

Thanks!
Victoria, Nick and baby

Adria* - I've never been a fan of the names Adrian, Adrienne, or Andrea (though I couldn't really tell you why) but I do like Adria! I think because it reminds me a lot of Audrey which I love. I love that it is unusual yet still recognizable.
Araminta - I like but it is a bit clunky, mythological, and may be a bit too 'unwearable'
Adair - LOVE!
Allegra - very pretty, I think the possible nn Aly makes this very wearable.
Ariella - I think I prefer the more simplified Ariel, but this name is also very lovely.
Audra* - LOVE! I like this name for similar reasons to Adria. However, I think I like Audra a tad more.
Cambria - Not a fan. Reminds me too much of the word camera.
Cecelia* - LOVE! I also adore the possible nn Celia. However, I'm not to sure it goes well with your last name.
Cordelia - LOVE LOVE LOVE. This is actually a name on my top girls list! I think the nn Cordy is super cute.
Dorothy* - I like this name but more so for a middle.
Eleanor - I really like this name. Simple, classic and understated yet still very beautiful!
Florence nn. Flora* - I do like Florence with the nn Flora. However the possible nns Florrie & Flossy (which I dislike) bother me a bit. I think Florence Ivy would be a lovely combination
Gemma - Not a fan. This name is a tad modern compared to your other name choices.
Gwyneth* - LOVE! I think the nn Gwyn is spunky and fresh.
Isadora - I think this is one of my favorite of the Isa- names (Isabeau is another fave of mine). However, I fear she would get lost in a sea of Isabella's & Izzy's.
Jessamine* - I've never been a fan of this name, I've always found it a bit awkward to say.
Lorna* - LOVE! I think this underused name is ripe for a come back.
Louisa - I do like this name, but the -Sa sound clashes with the Zee- sound of your last name.
Lucille* - I do love this name (I have a niece named Luci) but I find that it is a bit awkward to say with your last name.
Minerva* - Though I do love the HP & Mythological reference, I find this name a tad unwearable. Me and my sister's even came up with a rhyme when we were younger "You're getting on Minerva, Minerva Magonagall"
Miriam* - LOVE! Like Lorna, I think this underused name is ripe for a comeback.
Philippa - I like this name, but not as much as I like the possible nn Pippa. I just wish Princess Kate's sister hadn't launched this name so much into the spotlight. I'm sure there will be many Pippa's running around fairly soon.
Susanna - Like Louisa & Lucille I find this name a bit awkward to say with your last name.

My personal favorites would have to be Audra, Gwyneth, Cordelia, Lorna & Eleanor.

Mm. My favourites are:

Adria
Cordelia
Florence nn. Flora
Gwyneth
Miriam

I also think Gwyneth and Cordelia work nicely as middle names for all the rest.
i.e

Adria Gwyneth, Florence Cordelia, Miriam Gwyneth.

Lorna is cute, but I prefer Lenore, Lorelei or Lorraine.
