Which name do you think would fit the bad boy in my story? He's 17 years old, a lacrosse player, manipulative, charming, all the girls want him, all the guys envy him, he's rich, EXTREMELY controlling, his family is well respected and he's abusive towards his girlfriend. Which is better; Jordan Johnstone or Jesse Johnstone? Thanks. Any other 'J' names are welcomed as suggustions, but not: Jacob, Julian, James, Jeffery, Jasper, Jackson and Jonathan (as these are some first or last names of other characters!) Thanks, B.

I was also considering Marshall (even though that's not a 'J' name!) But I'm not sure if that fits the description or not!

That is a lot of J names for one story....even though you make think that they are different enough it can easily confuse readers...I had a story with a Jeremy and a James who were father and son and both were big characters in the story and it confused the people in my writing class....they had to keep thinking back to who was who....If you have that many J names in one story then I suggest changing some of their names (unless they are all minor characters) but if you want your main characters to stand out from the pack give them a name that will as well.

Thanks Katie B! I totally get what you're saying. Some of those are first names, while others are middle names and last names. But I'm starting to lean [i]away[i] from a 'J' name. I want a name that the readers will remember, not get confused with other characters. What do you think about Carter? It's unlike any other names in my story, and I think it fits him pretty well.

I want to be an author one day, so my fingers are crossed. I also enjoy dance and hanging out with my friends.

I agree with the whole 'J' name thing. It's confusing.

I like Carter and Marshall.

good luck!
