Name: Jasmine
Location: Townsville

Hi genie. Me and my partner are expecting again and leaving it for a surprise to know the sex. We love Laylah-Rose for a girl but can't seem to find a boys name. We have a son named Jay.  I was hoping for a Polynesian type of name for my partners Cook Island culture. Thanks ❤️

This is a tough one... there aren't many names from that area of the Pacific that have made their way into modern society, let alone many pronounceable ones. However, there are a few that you might find appealing.

Eloni James (EE-Lone-ee)

Siaki Thomas (See-yakk-ee)

Tane Hudson

I also pulled some names from the Japanese and Indonesian cultures, which are similar in style and meaning to Polynesian names.

Japanese

Akane (UH-Kahn-AAY) - "deep red"

Hiroshi (He-row-she) - "generous, prosperous"

Ichiro (Ee-chee-row) - "first son"

Kenta - "healthy, strong, big"

Ran - "orchid"

Rio - "village of cherry blossoms"

Taro - "big son"

Indonesian

Cinta - "love"

Dian - "candle"

Adi - "superior"

Hope this helps! :)
