Lately, I have been thinking about middle names. I know that most people use middle names to honor family or close friends or just someone special. I would like to do that, however, I also want my child to have an original name. So I thought that maybe if I change the names up, like to something very similar, or something with the same letters, that maybe it would make me feel better about using them. Here are the names of special people in my life:

Angela (maternal grandmother)
Luis (maternal grandfather)
Roman (paternal grandfather - I would love to use this or Romeo as a first name)
Elizabeth (mother)
Fernando (father and brother)
Nelson (god-father)
Yvette (god-mother)
Angelita (my closest cousin)

Let me know what you think and if you know of any names similar to these

Angela - Angel, Evangeline, Angelica, Angelina
Luis - You could use Louise as a middle name for a girl
Roman - Romeo is awesome :)
Elizabeth - Beth, Bethany, Eliza, Elisa, Liz
Fernando - Fern is the only thing I can think of :P
Nelson - Nelly as a nn for a girl maybe
Yvette - I don't know any varriants
Angelita - same as the Angela ones

I hope this helps! You could also try babynamesworld.com. Put in a name and it gives names similar to the name! It's a great site.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I really like these:

Evangeline (on my guilty pleasure list)
Angel/Angelica (already on my list, but my cousin just named his daughter Angelina, so it may be too close)
Lucy (I think this would work for Luis! I love Lucy)
Romeo (this has been my all-time favorite boy name, but I thought it was too much. I love love love it!)
Bethany/Eliza (these might work for a middle name. I don't like it enough to be a first name)
Nellie (I think this is adorable)
Eve (this is on my list, and I never thought about it possibly honoring my Aunt)
Louisa (this may work for a middle name)
Romy (I've liked this ever since the move Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion! lol)
