nameberry has one of these and I keep thinking how useful it would be on here.

post naming questions that you have here that aren't really big enough for an entire thread, but you still want advice on. :)

Some sample questions: (just samples. not actual questions.)

-What do you think of Severina?

-Which spelling: Annabel or Annabelle?

-Can't think of any good middles for Cato...help??

-Declan August or Jensen Arlo?

you get the gist?

you can obviously answer as many questions as you wish. If you are going to post a question, though, please answer at least the one question above yours to ensure that everyone's question gets at least one answer. :)

If you knew a Luke pretty closely that you definitely would not want to name your child after, is Lucius/Lucian too close?

If it was just Luke and not Lucas I would use Lucian as it sounds different enough to my ears that they seem less related. I wouldn't use Lucius because it shares similar beginning and ending sounds.

Ethan Orion, are the endings too similar?

I think it is alright because Orion has three syllables to break up the repeating sounds.

For Addison, I agree...Lucian would be best without making it too noticeable

For The Future Mrs B, I think the flow is a TINY bit off, but it's not bad.

Hayden Dean & Andrew Cliff or Hayden Cliff & Andrew Dean? Thoughts?

Does Ellis work as a nickname for Elizabeth instead of Elsie? I am not a fan of Elisabeth.

I think it's perfectly fine. There's nicknames that are stretched but still acceptable (e.g: Richard nn Dick, Scarlett nn Scout, etc.) so I find it to be okay. I love Elizabeth ❤️

Gabrielle Paige or Rowan Gabrielle? Why? I'm so torn between these two.

Rowan Gabrielle. They're both nice, I just like Rowan more, especially as a first name. :) It also feels a bit less...expected?

Definitely Sailor. Skipper doesn't sound like a real name, it sounds like a nickname.

I prefer Rowan Gabrielle as well. I'm not really a fan of Paige and I think Rowan Gabrielle as a slightly better flow.

Sailor or Skipper for a girl?

Honestly, I don't like either name on either gender.

What do you guys think of Morgan on a boy?

I love Morgan on a boy. I find it too masculine for girls. It's a really handsome name :)

Thoughts on Laree (luh-ree) Brooklyn?

I far prefer Brooklyn on boys and I'm still unsure of Laree. Flow-wise it is good.

Tiago is cute, though it slightly reminds of Trivago. Other than that, I like it :)

One middle name, two or doesn't matter? I have some names with one middle name (Gabrielle Paige/Rowan Gabrielle, Kaelyn Victoria, Andrew Cliff) and some with two (Isiana Hunter Layne, Ashley Jade Marilyn (double fn, but kind of the same thing), Adam Mackenzie James, etc.) is it fine to have both or should it be fair?

Trivago! I didn't think of that! Not a good association...hmm. Thank you for bringing it up!

I struggle with this, too. I have some names that I just adore in single combos and am never quite happy with double middles (Adoniram Boon, Sonoma Elise) and some that are inseparably double middles (Silas Alexander Grey, Evangeline Spencer May). I finally decided that I want to love my list how it is now and leave it as is. I am 7-8 years from ever having kids and I imagine my list will drastically change by then and if for some reason it doesn't, I can change it around then. I do personally think all of my kids should have an equal amount of middle names, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. Also, if you hypenated Ashley-Jade Marilyn, I'd consider that single middle, though you may not want to add a second middle. At one time, I had Anna-Frances Caroline Poe on my list :)

btw, Gabrielle Rowan Paige / Rowan Gabrielle Paige? <3
