So I really love the name Isolde. It's the name of an Irish princess in the story, Tristan and Isolde.

What are your opinions on this name? If I had a daughter and I decided to go with the name, she would go by Isolde. I'm just not sure if it would be better off as a first name or middle name. Also, middle/first name suggestions would be great!

Thanks! (:

It's funny, when I first looked at the name I greatly disliked it. But as I added middle names to it it seemed to have a gorgeous, kinda romantic flair! Like a less used Isabel feel, I guess <3

Love Isolde.... my only problem is the spelling. Isolde is lovely but sometimes I see "I sold." Yseult or Ysolde are other options, but Yseult has "slut" in it and Ysolde just isn't as nice looking as Isolde. :) Anyway, besides the spelling it is really nice. How about:

Isolde Lenore
Isolde Noelle
Isolde Phoebe
Isolde Gwen
Isolde Coraline
Isolde Diane
Isolde Selene
Isolde Cecily
Isolde Lorelei
Isolde Daphne

Also, how are you pronouncing it? That definitely makes a difference...

I think the name Isolde is GORGEOUS!!! Its soooo pretty and underused in my opinion. :)

So you could go one of four ways with the middle...

Classic/VERY Recognizable to offset the unusual first name...Isolde Katherine, Isolde Alexandra.
Traditional Irish/Gaelic to match the Irish first name...Isolde Bragnae (BRAWN ya), Isolde Caoilfhinn (KAY lin).
Modern to bring this name from the past into the 21st century...Isolde Makenzie, Isolde Keeley.
or somewhere in the middle, more recognizable/common than Isolde but not entirely modern, with an Irish feel but not exactly traditional....Isolde Tallulah, Isolde Fiona, Isolde Phoebe.
