Okay so I am writing a novel and cant come up with names. I have the main character as Aurora(Rory nn) or Penelope(nn Penny) Which of those names yells I am in private school? and the other main as Cooper or Jase so which is better? and I need good old classic southern names. Plus popular names for teens and unisex names that tend to be called boy names. And I need a name like River. Please help so I can get this show on the road. XOXO Jaye.

Okay.

I don't think Aurora or Penelope seem private school-esque at all. They could work if you really wanted them to. Some preppy names:
Emerson (Emmie [Emmy, Emme], Emma, Sonny, etc)
Kennedy
Blair
Alexandra (Lexi, Lex, Alex, Andy, etc)
Lillian (Lily)
Brooke
Jessica (Jess, Jessie, Jessa, etc)
Lauren
Piper (Pip, Pippa, etc)
Nora
Arden
Meredith
Caroline

And Cooper is great!

Good southern names:
Boone
Sawyer
Jedidiah
Mason
Wyatt
Beau
John-David
Rhett
Keith

Sarah-Jo
Emily-Kaye
Annabel
Ida-Mae
Jessie-Lou
Mary-Ann
Faith
Hope
Sadie

Popular teenage names:
Emily
Olivia
Addison
Hailey
Chloe
Kaitlyn
Hannah
Rachel

Christian
Tyler
Ryan
Cody
Joshua
Blake
Chase
Cameron
Jacob

Unisex:
Reece/Rhys/Reese
Ryan
Cameron
Jordan
Bay
Riley
Ashton
Chandler
Micah
Lane
Dakota
Kendall
Sam

Where is your novel set? In London Sloane is considered very preppy (google Sloane Rangers) after Sloane Square. I like Addy's suggestion of Piper. I see Piper as private school- esque. As far as southern goes I don't think you can do better than Jase. Short for Jason it's very southern. If you want a more obvious choice then I like Jasper. Maybe Jas (prn Jaz) for short.

A name like River? Do you mean a name that means River or do you mean a nature name? As far as nature names:

Winter
Sage
Snow
Wren
Lark
Skye

The only river I can can think of that would make a cool name is the Severn. The name Sabrina is closely tied to this as well.
