My husband and I love the odd names from Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. Is there any names in there that would match the last name Patterson?

I agree that names from here are so nice and unique. I have listed some names from both below, that I think are unique enough, but also not something that would provoke teasing or only remind people of one of these books. i'm not sure if you wanted a name with one of each as fn or mn or you wanted both to be from one book, so i made combos of my own that i liked with all sorts of arrangements...

HP names I love
Andromeda, Astoria, Fleur, Ginevra, Lavender, Minerva, Padma, Pansy, Rowena, Sybil, Victoire
Alastor, Cedric, Draco, Gideon, Kingsley, Orion, Percival, Phineas, Rubeus, Seamus, Sirius, Zacharias

LOR names I love
galadriel, arwen, Éowyn
everard, sauron, legolas, elrond, gollum, haldir, Théoden

COMBOS I love
Cedric Sirius
Sauron Seamus
Kingsley Zacharias
Haldir Gollum
Theodon Phineas
Everard Gideon
Rubeus Elrond
Orion Legolas
Astoria Pansy
Minerva Galadriel
Rowena Lavender
Ginevra Eowyn
Galadriel Victoire
Andromeda Fleur

Great ideas! For HP names, you might check out the website The Harry Potter Lexicon. It's a totally comprehensive site with everything HP, including a full list of all characters ever mentioned!

I understand your husband's point of you because, while drako sounds cool, the name drake or drako means serpent. I wouldn't want anything that implies snake or anything evil-ish, either. I am not too familiar with names from these movies but what was the name of the two main female characters in the first and second Lord of the rings?

there are so many fantastic names there already so i thought i would just give my fave which is mentioned a couple of times.LILY-harry potters mum. i think it sounds feminine and beautiful but also really cute.great for young child/baby as well as beautiful mature woman.

also a bit of advise dont pick soemthing that everyone will recognise straight away from either hary potter or the lord of the rings because a family friend named her children Éowyn and Éomere-brother and sister from rohan in the lord of the rings and they get teass and bullied my kids their age and even adults think it is strange so just be careful.

i think you have a great idea though and there are so many beautiful names to choos from above.
