I really love the name but I'm worried if I ever used it, she would get her named mispronounced all of the time. Which spelling do you think is easiest just by looking at it?
Alaina- My favorite spelling
Alayna- Too trendy with the "Y"?
Elaina
Elena
Any others?

There is Alana (like my step-daughter) and Alanna (a girl at my work). Both prn Uh-lay-nuh.
But I have heard it prn'ed Ah-la-nuh.
Ashley--I never realized her name was pronouced as eh-LAY-nuh. I would've said uh-LAWN-uh based on the spelling...

But generally, I prefer Elena.I know your pronunciation is eh-LEN-ah, but in Italy we say EH-len-ah. I've got an aunt with this name (:

Same here. I have a friend named Alanna, and her name is pronounced uh-LAWN-na.
I prefer Elena.

Alayna- Definitely the trend to use a "y" whenever you can
Elaina- Somewhat LOVE it
Elena- my absolute favourite spelling but there is always the mispronounciation problem and I don't like the name Eh-LEN-uh.

LOL. Yeah. When I first met James and his kids, I had the impression that her name was spelled Elena. But, they got her name out of a baby name book, so they might have assumed that is was prn eh-LAY-nuh, because I have heard it prn uh-LAWN-uh more. Except for the girl at work.
