I loved the name Iorek (the name of an armored bear in The Golden Compass) but that isn't a human name... when I read Night, I was fascinated by the three Polish-Jewish inmates at Auschwitz named Idek, Franek and Juliek, and from then on I noticed, in all the stuff about the Holocaust I read (that's a special interest of mine) I took notice of all the guys with first names ending in "ek". They were all Polish. Before that I had noticed that about 90% of the Jewish females in Europe in that time had names ending in a.
