Our last name is a fairly common one- Bennett. We're expecting a little girl and have a list of names but can't agree what one to go with...he likes my favorite but isn't in love with it and I like his favorite but am not in love with it...and then there are names we both like but don't necessarily love....here's our list:

I adore the sound of Cassandra Bennett, Eleanor Bennett, Madeline Bennett and Sophia Bennett. I think they go very nicely.
I would personally avoid names from "Little Women" with your last name {Jane, Elizabeth, Mary, Katherine and Lydia Bennet} because the characters are all that pop in to my head when I hear the names with the surname. Though they all sound wonderful!
From your list, I think Eleanor is definitely my favourite paired with your surname. The rest are lovely, but Eleanor is just so classy and elegant.

I think we are going to go with Eleanor, my mother in law and sister in laws heard the names last night and they all love Eleanor. Husband was surprised because he expected his younger sisters to suggest some trendier names but they want to call her Lea and mother in law was refering to her as Ella by the end of the night. On my side, my mother abstains from the naming process by just going 'that's a nice name, dear' to almost every possible name out there, one of my sisters hates pretty much all the names we come up with because she loves names like Adrian and Addison and the other members of my family like Johanna (hubby said no to my dad on that but my dad must really love that name he tried to convince my mom to use it on every one of us, and my sister to use it on her two girls), Athena or are really little and like names like Minnie, Daisy, and Tinkerbell.
Not sure what we're going to do about middle names though.
