I'm really loving the name Saoirse, and kinda of seriously considering using it! I'm just wondering what you think about seriously using it though. Most people wouldnt guess its pronounced seer-sha.

I can't think of another spelling either I've thought of Seirsha, Seersha, Searsha, Siersha, but none of them look good to me at all, and none of them have the feeling that the original gives D:

Do you think it would be so bad to use this? Maybe as a middle name but calling her by this name would be better? I'm open to all opinions and suggestions!

I adore Irish names! Saoirse is one of my favs! And I agree, there's something about the traditional Irish spelling that just can't be replaced. In fact, it really bothers me when people use phonetic spellings. Like any name, once people take the time to learn it, it shouldn't be a problem. but if your still worried about it, why not just use it as a middle name?

There are so many gogreous Irish names! <3 But most definately, none of the names can be spelled differently and still feel right D: It is sad seeing the names changed... But thats what I was thinking, maybe as a middle name. I'm not too too worried, but I'm not quite sure yet. Hmmm, I think I'll just go search for some middle names X3 thanks, Rose!

I like it. A friend of mine has a daughter named Saoirse Noelle. She does have to constantly correct the pronunciation as most (non-Irish) people have no idea how it is said.

I prefer the traditional spelling, Saoirse, but you could spell it Searsia or Sersia

Love Saoirse, hate the spelling though. I know it's the traditional spelling, but I'm not Irish and just cannot get SEER-shuh out of Saoirse.

I like the spelling Siersha or Ciercia.

Searsia looks kinda cute, Maggie! Usualy I dont like varient spellings, but I like it

Most people don't get seer-shah out of Saoirse, which does make it difficult D: I have no problem correcting people, I just hope my kid wouldnt get really bothered =O

How does Sao-ir-se sound, Zayda? Like Say-oh-ear-sha?
