Hi,
I need some help with coming up with a boarding school which is set on the fictional island of Tesoro - it's a mixed one with perfects and a head girl/boy. Any help would be gratefully accepeted.
Thanks
Laura

I'm a bit confused. Are you looking for a name for the boarding school?

You could go one of three ways or a mix of all three...
Being that I'm american, boarding schools aren't very common. When I think boarding school I think Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry...If the boarding school in your story is special in any way or focuses on anything you could have that in the name. For example: The Vander School of Fine Arts
Or if it is just a typical school: The Vander School
Or if the name is known throughout the community it could be known as simply Vander. Kind of like you would say I go to Harvard.
Keep in mind Vander is just an example, pretty much any surname that sounds interesting to you would work.

Another idea is to use a saints name. I know it sounds like a lot of research, but being named after a saint makes it seems more... I dunno, not posh, but almost like it's more up-there in terms of school status.
Another idea would be a description. Where I live there is a private scoop named Argyle House - it is two old Victorian houses that have been turned into a school. The description "argyle" comes from their original uniform, or the uniform of the school before Argyle House. Either that or it's the name of one of the two houses.
