Aubrey Celeste Schreiner [1] is the daughter of Ezra's mom best friend. Aubrey and Ezra often go on play dates. Aubrey is more quiet and doesn't talk as much as Ezra but she enjoys playing with the letter and number blocks. She has an older sibling.

Hadley Brooke Schreiner (8) is Aubrey's quite introverted older sister. Hadley loves being in front of the camera. She has modeled for big name companies and starred in commercials. She is working on an indie film currently. She is used to being the center of attention, so when Aubrey came along, she was furious, but she's warmed up to the little girl some.

Audria Skylar Runes [16] is older cousin of Aubrey and Hadley via their mother's sister. Audria is a middle child, and was thrilled to find out she would be getting a new cousin. She loves babies and wants to grow up to be a neonatal nurse. She loves horseback riding, and going to the rodeo.

Ellis Hanna Avery (16) is Audria's best friend. Her family owns the ranch that Audria rides at. Ellis really wants to inherit the stables, but as of now they're going to her older sister, who could care less about the lives her parents built for them. Ellis is not interested in fancy gadgets or a college education.

Emmet Harlowe Avery [3] is the youngest of the Avery siblings. he loves riding with his sisters, and cannot wait till he can ride on his own when he is bigger. He loves horses and won't ever take his cowboy boots off.

Malcolm Everett Avery [46] is the father of three children. He owns Rolling Ridge Ranch, and spends most of his time riding and caring for the family horses. He plans to leave the stables to his oldest daughter when he retires, and he wishes she wasn't so indifferent to the family legacy.

Marlowe Emily Avery "Mara" (22) despises the way her family has chosen to live. She really wants Ellis and Emmet to get college educations and to be as successful as she is in the technology industry. She hates her given name (so she uses Mara everywhere) and her father's refusal to leave the ranch to Ellis. But deep down, she is a sweet, caring girl who just wants to break free of her parents' expectations.

James Donovan McCallister [26] is Mara's boyfriend. He is very successful and graduated form Yale university. He likes Mara, and really doesn't like his future in-laws. He plans to propose on her birthday and move farther away from his in laws.

Stetson David McCallister {17} is the younger brother of James. Being nearly ten years younger the James, the brothers were never really close. Stetson is very innocent for 17, never been around drugs or alcohol, never goes "too far" with his girlfriend, etc. The guys at school mess with him because of it, but his girlfriend convinces him that it is ok. He makes straight A's and is very respectful. He's a bit shy.

Kaley Michelle Ogier [16] is Stetson's girlfriend. She is a really sweet girl, and can be a bit shy around people she doesn't know well. Among friends, she is more talkative and fun. She would rather hang out at home and play her guitar than go to any wild parties, and like Stetson she is very innocent and sheltered. Kaley is glad that she has a boyfriend that doesn't pressure her to do anything she doesn't want to do.

Keats Allen Brantley {9} is the cousin of Kaley. Keats lives with Kaley and her family as his parents died. Biologically, he is an only child, but he will soon be adopted into Kaley's family. He is rather quiet and he loves to be outdoors, he's always climbing on things and running around.

Hayden Andrew Ogier [10] is Kaley's younger brother and Keats' cousin. He and Keats have grown really close since Keats moved in with the Ogier family. He enjoys having a boy his own age to play with, and is really excited that his parents are adopting Keats. Hayden has just started learning to play guitar like his older sister Kaley.

Leo Declan Ogier {6} is the youngest of the Ogier kids, brother to Kaley and Hayden. Leo is a very friendly kid, he is a witty, quick thinker. His mom and dad think he is destined to be an engineer.

Rowan Eva Marks (6) is a girl in Leo's class who has taken quite an interest in him. Row loves singing and dancing and fingerpainting. Her parents are splitting and Row has been using explicit language in class, but she doesn't know what any of it means. She is averagely intelligent but wants to be smarter to live up to the standard of her older siblings.

Jessamy Catherine "Jess" Marks {17} is the eldest of the Marks children. Jess wants to go to school for fashion design and retail. She's never been too good of a big sister, but when her parents split she took a responsibility for her younger siblings.

Abram Jamison Marks [9 mos] is the youngest of the marks siblings. He is partly the reason his parents could be splitting up. Abram was born blind. The first few months of his life no one knew he was blind, but then they started realizing he wouldn't look at people and was extremely quiet. no cry when he pooped, no giggle when people made silly faces at him. So they found out he was blind and bills for doctor visits were piling up. The parents stressed, and don't know what to do.Abram is a happy kid though.

Evelyn Reilly McVale (11) is a blind girl who is a veteran of the therapy Abram's mother is entering him into. Evy stays to help other blind kids after her brief check-ins with her doctor are done. Evy has made friends easily and her peers have grown accustomed to her disability. She loves music and plays violin.

Maria Josephine Garcia [48] is the therapist at the organization, Blind Therapeutic Clinic. she has been working there for 20 years now and works in the pediatrics center. She loves the children and grew up with a blind sibling herelf, and has always wanted to help out. She has three healthy children.
