I'd never heard this name until recently, and it captured my interest when I saw it on flickr.

According to thinkbabynames.com, Cassia is the feminine form of Cassius, of Latin origin meaning "Empty, Hollow".
The meaning is not exactly the best, but I find the name quite pretty.

Although I have to say, the pronunciation indicated on the website doesn't really appeal to me.
It says it's pronounced KASH-ah., but I'd definitely pronounce it KAS-see-a. (Which I also think would be the original Latin pronunciation)

What do you guys think? I would love an opinion.

I can't say it's my style, but it's quite pretty. I think it would make a really nice middle name!

I definitely prefer it prn. Cass-ee-uh. And I do believe that is the correct way to pronounce it in classical latin (:

Oh, my gosh! I love Cassia! I also prefer the pronounciation of Cass-ee-uh. I think it is so gorgeous. I came across it about six months ago and fell in love! It is definitely on my guilty pleasures list because my cousin's name is Cassie...and its wayyy close! But, anyway I think it's so elegant and pretty.

I love the combo Cassia Louise (Lu-eese).
