So here are some names that I have heard/seen out and about lately. Feel free to comment on them and post your own sightings!

GIRL:

Parker- I had seen someone questioning this as a girl's name on Nameberry, but for the first time the other day I actually met a little girl named Parker!

Ondina- I have fallen for this one! I met a woman named Ondina while waiting in a customer service line(this is a great place to meet new people and here new names!) I think it is just gorgeous!

Beckett- The first thing that I think of when I hear this name is Kate Beckett from Castle! The mother of baby Beckett was a Castle fan, but that isn't the reason she had for picking the name. She said in her name book the name meant 'little brooke' and the mother's name is Brooke! Such a sweet story for her little girl!

Murielle- This is not Muriel, this is mure-ee-ELLE. This was the name of a character in a book I was reading to my cousin and I actually like it!

Davina- As a Vampire Diaries fan I followed the series all the way to it's spin off 'The Originals' set in New Orleans where there is a very powerful 16 year old witch named Davina. A feminized form of David, this name has its own flair and I personally find it romantic and elegant.

Hastings- Usually a surname, this was the name of a girl I met while working. Hastings was her mother's maiden name. And although it doesn't fit the pronunciation of the name her family and friends call her Tin Tin! That is so cute!

Mercer- Hasting's younger sister had an interesting name as well, Mercer. This name is also a surname from the family tree and means 'merchant'. The name does have the nickname Mercy which allows it to be pulled toward the feminine side of the scale. But this girl's nickname was not Mercy, just Mer!

BOY:

Bellamy- The second season of the popular show The 100 has come to an end, but I am still in love with most of the character's names! Upon hearing it for the first time many will think it has a feminine touch with Bell and Amy, but I think the character is very strong and masculine. I wouldn't be surprised if this name started rising in popularity!

Morgan- This name originated as a name for boys, but like many others was taken to the girl side. But I recently met a little boy named Morgan and the name is so perfect for him! And his parents said surprisingly he has had no trouble at all with his name at school.

Harper- I went to school with a male Harper, Harper was a male character in one of my favorite books as a kid, and I recently heard the name pop up again on a boy while working. I actually prefer this name on a boy, but I know these days it would be assumed it was a girl.

What do you think of these name sightings? What names have you heard/seen recently that have caught your attention?

I think Morgan is super handsome on boys, as is Harper. Bellamy is growing on me just hearing about The 100, though I haven't watched it yet.

I prefer Beckett and Parker on boys, though they aren't too bad on girls.

Ondina, Murielle, and Davina are quite interesting, though they aren't for me. Although Murielle brings to mind Marielle, which I think is really pretty.

I think Mercer isn't too bad (I could easily see it on a boy, and it's not too bad on a girl), but Hastings? If I was dead-set on using it as a family name, I'd put it in the middle spot and leave a more usable one out front.

I know more female Parker's than male, and more male Morgan's than female. :) Maybe that's the reason I prefer them on the genders I do? hmm.

Ondina and Davina aren't for me. I have to say, prefer Marielle to Murielle, but they are both pretty.

I'd never thought about Beckett on a girl and though I certainly don't love it, I surprisingly don't mind it.

I kind of like Hastings, because of the meaning. It fits well with Mercer. Cute sibset.

I adore Bellamy and Harper on boys <3

Thanks for sharing!

Heard another new name today at work that I thought was very pretty and unique so I had to come and share it.

Gaileann/Gayleann Rosemary

Gail/Gayle Leann Rosemary

I couldn't tell if this was a combination name of Gail and Leann or a double barrel name, and I didn't get the chance to ask. Either way I thought it had a pretty sound to it!

Parker feels so masculine to me. But I guess it also has a similar feel as Hunter does and people seem to be taking Hunter to the girls side too.

Ondina is interesting. Like, I think I'd like it on someone else. Though I don't think I'd use it myself.

Beckett - entirely masculine to me. I do appreciate the meaning, though :) I think that's really sweet.

Murielle - What is Muriel from? I know I recognize it. Interesting though.

Davina - I've never seen the Vampire Diaries, so I'd not notice that association. I do find the name pleasant, though not one I'd use.

Hastings - Definitely feels too surnamey to me. Plus I watch PLL and associate it with Spencer hehe. I think the "haste" part is what throws it off from being a first name to me. Tin Tin feels strange to me for some reason. Maybe if I met her and saw it in action it'd feel less odd.

Mercer - I kinda like this. I know of a mom who's son is named Mercer. I kind of like it, though again not sure I'd use it. I put it on my guilty pleasures list though. I can honestly see it on both genders nicely.

Bellamy - I'm on the fence with this name. I know it as a surname as my mom was friends with a Bellamy family long before The 100 came around. But seeing it as a first name... I have seen people liking it for both a boy and a girl. Cause it does have a feminine touch. Yet it still feels mostly boy to me. Though I also prefer Ashley on a boy, so.. haha.

I like Morgan better on a boy for some reason. I bet he was cute. :)

Harper - I know a little boy with the middle name Harper. I love it on both a boy and a girl, though its so popular on girls nowadays.
