My wife and I are having difficulty with names.
Our child, well 20 year old child now, recently came out as transgender and is asking us to pick a new name for him.
We're thinking of something like this. "Zak Lucas" or "Zak Lucien" or "Zak Lucian".
Our last name is McAllistair.
Does anyone know if any of those sound good?
His birth name meant "pure" and "light" and he asked us if we could keep those meanings in there. He said he wants us to choose for him, as our opinion matters dearly to him.
I thought that maybe the softer names of "Lucas" or "Lucien" would balance out the harshness of "Zak" and the "Mc" part of our last name, but I'm unsure.
I have no experience naming children, as my dear mother named him. Sadly we can't ask her for help with the name because she passed in 2007 of complications due to hip surgery at her old age.
Does anyone have any advice on names?
