My family doesn't have any history of double middle names, and I doubt I'll use it to honor family members (like using both grandmother's middle names etc.), but I've been seriously considering it. I love so many names, and I would love to use more of them, but I feel like having a long name might be a burden on the child. Especially since it isn't a tradition in my family, and it isn't as common a practice in the U.S. as it is in other counties.

Here are some combinations that I really like:
Delilah Jane Persephone - I absolutely love this one. :D
Cordelia Isis Rhiannon
Veronica Dawn Mireille
Allegra Carys Evangeline
^see my problem? I really like long (fairly unusual) names, and I think it makes them too complicated. :o

I'd rather use 2 middles on the girls, but I do have some I like for boys:
William Alec Benjamin - I absolutely love this one. :D
Zachary Dylan Gabriel
Anthony Jensen Oliver
Joshua Devon Maxwell

So, do you think I should give up on two middle names and just stick with my normal combos? :P :P  The only thing I know for sure is that I won't use a different number of middle names on the same gender. That sounds confusing, but what I mean is that I will either use {A} 2 middles for all my kids, {B} 2 middles on just the girls, or {C} 1 middle for all my kids.

I love Delilah Jane Persephone!

Myself, personally, I would love to use to middle names. Especially if I absolutely love these names. (Unfortunately, my husband disagrees and thinks Nathaniel Christopher is too long.)

Think of this: How often are you really going to use their middle name? When they are in trouble, of course. LOL. The universal...'if I say your full name, I mean business'. Maybe on some government documents here and there. But, honestly, you will mostly see the first and last name. Maybe an initial for the middle name. And if you absolutely love those names, I don't see anything wrong.

It could be worse. Like this: Adolph Blaine Charles David Earl Frederick Gerald Hubert Irvim John Kenneth Loyd Martin Nero Oliver Paul Quincy Randolph Sherman Thomas Uncas Victor Willian Xerxes Yancy Zeus Wolfeschlegelsteinhausenbergerdorff. No lie.

Haddie, I think the 2 3 1 idea is great! I never liked double middle names because I never found any combos that didn't sound jumbled up. But some of these are very pretty. I especially like

Allegra Carys Evangeline
Willow Juliet Raine.

I like ones like Piper Amelia Rose, Evie Amelia Paige, Lily Madeline Jane etc

I agree with Haddie on the 2 3 1 thing. Sometimes 2 4 1 works too. :P <3

For me 2 middle names aren't weird at all, lol, I have two middle names, my mom does, grand mother does, my daughter does...so to me, it's pretty normal.

I like Allegra Carys Evangeline and Zachary Dylan Gabriel

I actually don't care if a combo has one or two middle names, it just depends on how they sound, but I am a sucker for a good two-middle name combo. :P

Your combos are great! And it doesn't matter if it's not a tradition in your family. You could always start one! :P

I used to really dislike the idea of two middle names. It always struck me as indecisive. Now, I LOVE it. A few years ago, I found myself in a similar boat. I just loved SO many names that the idea of using two in the middle and fitting more in really appealed to me. I'm not sure if I will do it or not when I actually have kids, but it's possible (I'm the opposite of you though, it's easier for me to come up with combos with two middle names for boys than girls.)

The issue I often had/have with two middle names is you HAVE to have the flow right.

The combos you have are lovely.

Delilah Jane Persephone - wonderful!
Cordelia Isis Rhiannon - LOVE!
Veronica Dawn Mireille- This is my least fave, the flow is fine, I'm just not as in love with any of the nams.
Allegra Carys Evangeline - *squee* LOOOOOVE this one!! All three names are VERY high on my list! oh, I really am in love.

William Alec Benjamin - very handsome
Zachary Dylan Gabriel - cute!
Anthony Jensen Oliver- LOVE!
Joshua Devon Maxwell- wonderful

In reality, how often do you use your middle name. Mine rarely comes up. I mean the few times I might need it, I really only need the first initial. Whether that initial is followed by two letters of 20 doesn't really matter. :P
