My husband and I are expecting our second child and we are looking for authentic Native American names. There are tons of lists with supposed meanings on the internet, however most of them aren't accurate. I want authentic names with strong (REAL) meanings. Can anyone help me out?

What tribe? It really actually makes a big difference which one you choose, especially to full-blood Native Americans. Many don't like to be lumped together.

I'm about a tenth Blackfoot, despite my Norwegian blonde hair and blue eyes :) lol

I've always been in love with the boys' name Sequoyah, after the famed Cherokee.

Also, I think Leotie [leh-oh-tee] is cute for girls. It's Cherokee, too, meaning "flower of the prairie."
