We've decided our current front runner for our upcoming daughter is Brooklyn Matthews and now trying to work out middle name(s).  As she's half Chinese she'll be getting a Chinese middle name, which at the moment is looking like it will be Yuxi (basically translate to 'rainy brook').

So here's where i'm at - i'm trying to decide if I'm ok with only the single Chinese middle name, or if it needs a second middle name to help with the flow of it, or even better if anybody is familiar with Chinese names and has any prettier suggestions.

  • Brooklyn Yuxi Matthews
  • Brooklyn Ivy Yuxi Matthews
  • Brooklyn (insert different English middle name) Yuxi Matthews
  • Brooklyn (insert different Chinese middle name) Matthews

Help!

I think Brooklyn Yuxi Matthews flows beautifully! If you want another middle name I'm sure it could fit, but that sounds perfect :) I'm a fan of two middles, my son has two. But I don't love the flow of Brooklyn Ivy Yuxi Matthews. All four are two syllables.. So maybe Brooklyn Isabel Yuxi Matthews could work, or Brooklyn Mae Yuxi Matthews, or even Brooklyn Yuxi Tess Matthews :)

Good luck!

I'm familiar with Chinese names, I've spent a while in China and speak almost fluent Chinese!

My top suggestion would be Brooklyn Song Matthews. Song is a lovely Chinese name that translates easily and beautifully to English.

Other Suggestions:

Brooklyn Jia (name would mean beautiful brook)

Brooklyn Anming (name would mean brook of peaceful clarity)

Brooklyn Jin (name would mean golden brook)

Brooklyn Fa (passing brook)

Brooklyn Liling (white jasmine brook)

Brooklyn Daiyu (black jade brook)

Brooklyn Lanfen (brook of orchid's fragrance)

Brooklyn Biyu (brook of jasper)

Brooklyn Lihua (beautiful, florishing brook)

Brooklyn Meifen (brook of fragrant plums) (mei is prn may)

Brooklyn Meili (beautiful brook) (mei is prn may)

I've started with single middles, and if you find a Chinese name here you like I'll give you ideas for a second middle.
