So I've been loving the boy name

Ananias

lately. It has strong significance to me, and I love most uncommon Biblical names.

It's pronounced [ann-uh-nye-uhs] and it's pretty fluid to say, it isn't a hard or rigid pronunciation.

 

Is it too strange? What do you think of it?

 

Nicknames? I would say Nye, but Bill Nye (the Science Guy) ruins that for me. I like Ana as a nickname for around the house, it's kinda feminine but I feel like a little boy could pull it off. I do tend to like softer names for boys so maybe that's why I don't mind it. 

 

Combo Ideas? I'm thinking something simpler; Ananias David, maybe.

I would have guessed Ananias to be a girls name honestly. I think it flows but it's a tad odd.. I could see someone else's kid pulling it off. I like a lot of soft boys names and unisex boys names but not sure why this one feels odd to me. Maybe it'll grow on me

I see the appeal (especially being biblical. I like a lot of those more unique ones too!). Nick names are hard... Ian, swithed around letters, but it is a completely different name.... (uh-nye) on its own is kind of cool too though. Ananias David is handsome
