What is the best way to get the nick name Finn? I love the name but ideally it would be a nick name. Can it stand alone in the first name spot? What are my options for longer first names?

I personally never liked Finn, but that's just me...some longer variations..

Finnegan

Finlay

Those are the only ones, I can think of..sorry. But I do think Finn can stand on its own.

I personally like Finley or Griffin to get to the nickname Finn. There's also Finnegan, Finbar, Phineas, Finian, Finnick, and Fintan. I do think Finn can stand on it's own though.

I'm going back and forth between using just Finn or Finley nn Finn. I also think Griffin nn Finn is cool as mentioned above. But either way, I love Finn!

I like Finley but I'm just curious about how often it's used for girls... I love Finn but I feel like it can really just be used alone in the middle name spot.

According the the SSA website Finley is currently more popular for girls at 204 compared to 326 for boys. It's not a huge difference though, and it wouldn't put me off using it for a boy if it's what I really loved it.

Thank you. I'm considering it. That's not a huge difference. Any ideas on middle names for Finley?
