I'm having a baby girl in two months and the name I have for her that is unique and represent her father and I is Emerie. However, my mother insist that it's an ugly name and that she should have perla or "sweet" names like that.. I just need an opinion is Emerie Cepeda a nice name ?
My choice of name or my family's choice ?

It's your child so name her what you want. Don't tell others the name you have picked out until after she's born.
Emerie is a fine name, although I do prefer the spelling Emery

Definitely don't share names until after the birth. She is yours and will be precious to her grandma no matter her name <3

That's why I advise pregnant women not to share the names they are considering. Personally, I think it's fine and it's up to you. She's your daughter and you can name her whatever you want.

Emerie/Emory is a beautiful name, just as sweet as your mother thinks Perla is. And if it doesn't satisfy her, then it's her problem. Your baby isn't her property, and she can't tell you what to name her. Plus Emorie/Emory does have nicknames (Emmie, Em, Ree, etc.).
