Just found out that a relative of one of my friends on facebook has a 1-year-old daughter named Kashlyn.
I do like some non-traditional names...but this one just seems over the top to me. Not horrible, just sounds made up.
Got me thinking, what's a weird baby name that you have heard before?

Maxton (boy)
Aislyn (girl)
Wrigley (girl) (not sure about this spelling though...)

I agree that Kashlyn definitely sounds made up!

Kenlynn is one I encountered recently. As you said I think it souls made up. Alot if people seem to think adding Lynn or an ly on the end of anything makes a good name.

Aislyn is just a variant of the Irish name Aislinn (pronounced ash-lyn).

The strangest that I've heard recently is a girl named Kesley, no it's not Kelsey as most may think at first glance, but Kesley. I can just imagine the frustration of constantly correcting people.

I actually know someone named Kesley. She is 14 and has never had trouble with her name. :)

Hmmmm...thanks for info. It's pronounce ays-lyn and I do like it! I just hadn't heard it before. Her sister's name is Makenna--so both have same roots.

That actually really surprises me. Maybe it's just because where I live there are so many Kelsey's that it would be inevitable to be called Kelsey with a name that close. I don't dislike it, I actually think that it sounds a little softer and prettier than Kelsey!

I've heard it pronounced ays-lyn before in passing, I don't actually know how the little girl's name was spelled. I love it either way! I can imagine that in the United States (which is where I live) it would more commonly be pronounced ays-lyn. It's very pretty and has a great meaning, 'Dream'.

Thankfully, I've never met anyone with as weird a name as Kashlyn. That's just... really not my style, to put it nicely :) There was a kid a year ahead of me in high school who was called Hawkeye. It was one of his middle names, I believe. The name fit him perfectly, though!

I haven't really come across many really weird names in real life, the one that I heard recently was Thorben but it's not super weird.
