I adore both names too! Nor can I really decide which I would use... :L I think Charlotte is a lot more popular, if popularity bothers you :)

But for me, I'm just using one over the other completely based off of how one of them sounds better in it's name combo than the other (I had to go to desperate measure's of elimination :P ) Being I like Juniper Charlotte way to much to give up Charlotte. Though I like Katherine Scarlett a lot a lot, I think I'm going to use Katherine Elisabeth anyways. That sort of logic may help you too! :)

Though I must say, both Scarlett and Charlotte are so beautiful! They both have a certain feel to them, and I just love 'em! <3

I'll do pros and cons for each:

Scarlett: Pros: very feminine, unusual nickname (Scar), other nickname options (Carrie, Carly etc.), not a terribly popular or dated name (ranked 169 in 2009). Cons: the color is spelled with only one 't' so there may be spelling issues, some people may not like "Scar" as a nickname.

Charlotte: Pros: very feminine, traditional, cute nicknames (Char, Charlie). Cons: the word "harlot" right in the center, it is the name of a town, masculine meaning (free man), fairly popular (ranked 68 in 2009), not so good nickname possiblities (Chuck and the other word it rhymes with), and Charlotte's Web association (spider, pig, etc.).

Winner: Scarlett

Ok, I had this problem too with the same names! I still love both of them and think they are both very pretty for different reasons. I think I slightly prefer Charlotte, but only by a little bit. I don't like the nn Charlie at all though, so I would never use that. It does stink though that they sound so much alike because if they didn't I would probably use one for this girl and then save the other for my next but they sound too much alike to do that. I hope this helps! And if you're still stuck just go by which sounds better with the middle name. GL!

This is so hard!

Hayden Taylor: Thank you :) I have more combo's for Scarlett then Charlotte, great idea. Juniper Charlotte's really pretty too. I hate how Charlotte and Scarlett are so similar.

Mishada17: Thanks for your list its really helpful and it pushed me towards picking Scarlett over Charlotte so thanks heaps. I adore the nickname Carly but I really dislike the nickname Scar so hopefully nobody will call her that. But I love the feminine feel towards it and that its not overly popular.
As for Charlotte, I dont like the nickname Char or Charlie which she would get for sure. I love the movie 'Charlottes Web' but I dont like the possibilty of those cruel nicknames.

Tara Ann: Thanks im gonna go with Scarlett.

Annie Faith: Im worried about her getting the nickname Charlie so that pushed me towards Scarlett. Its a hard decision though because there both as beautiful as each other.

Thanks loads for the help. Im gonna go with Scarlett cause the nickname Carly just won me over :(

Hope I didn't mess up your results! :)

That's one of the ways I looked at it though, I figured Lottie was an adorable nick name and I'd be so sad if little Scarlett was called Scar D:

I'm the exact opposite. I can't stand Lottie, it just sound like lot + tea mushed together. I do like Scar though :embarrased smiley: mostly because 17 Again was a hoot.
