I was watching a video and someone mentioned the names of their niece and nephew. Which was Adonis and Alanis. What do you think of the names and the combo?

They're interesting. I've never heard either before, they're a little too matchy/rhymey for my taste though. For siblings at least.

Hmm, they're much too close for my taste. Not bad names though. I prefer Alanis over Adonis, the second sounds a bit made up (not sure if either of them are real names though).

Adonis is way too much to live up to.  lol  Alanis reminds me of Alanis Morrisette.   I don't mind siblings' names beginning with the same letter, but these sound way too similar.

I agree that they are too close for siblings but I have met a little boy named Adonis when I worked as a tutor before.  He had twin baby brothers Odin and Orion.  Its not my style but after seeing it on him I could definitely picture it on another child.  They had meant for his to go by Donny or Don but they ended up never using the nickname.

Alanis reminds me of Alanis Morisette, since that's the only other person I've ever heard of with that name. Which isn't bad if the parents don't mind the association, but I feel like a lot of people will be reminded of her when they hear the name. I actually think it's a cool name, and Allie is could work as a nickname, if you so desired. Adonis I'm not as fond of. Like Laney said, it seems a bit much to live up to. Adonis sounds kind of pretentious to me, as well. Alanis and Adonis are a bit too similar for a sibset, IMO.
