to name a baby girl Hermione? Yes I love the HP series but I love the sound of the name regardless. Plus, I jokingly brought it up to my husband and he loves it. We haven't really agreed on ANY other girl names! We are not planning on finding out the gender of our baby. Our last name is Brougher (pronounced Brower) and due to family issues the middle name for the girl would likely have to be Jean and Andrew for a boy. Both are kinda boring hence the need for a superior first name! Here is the list of other names I like.

Girls:

Stella
Jocelyn
Alice
Chloe (More common than I really like)
Adele
Fiona
Luna

Boys:

Nolan
Cedric
Arden
Miles
Henry
Roderick
Bennett
Remus

My favourites are Stella, Fiona Alice, Adele and Luna for the girls :]

I would have to say I like Stella Jean and Alice Jean as combos!

The least common at the moment I would say are Fiona and Jocelyn!

The others becoming quite common around the site, but maybe it's different for different places!

As for the boys I LOVE Nolan, Cedric, Miles, Henry and Bennett.

I think Miles Andrew has the best flow.. but if you want something more.. 'unusual' let's say, then I would think Cedric is the most up your street (And Remus also).

The other names have become pretty popular!

I've never pictured anyone other than the character with the name Hermione, but I'm sure many people have named their children that after watching the movies!

I've always thought as long as a long unusual name has a shorter more common nickname, you can't go wrong! But at a first glance, I can't really conjure up any nn's from it!

Except Mimi..

Do what you want, not what you think others will approve of.

If you both love the name, then go for it!

And remember, don't take popularity in to account. All places are different :]

It's not like your calling your kid Giraffe or grapefruit! ;D ♥

I do like Hermione, and I used to love it! But I was never allowed to red Harry Potter growing up (mum was convinced I'd want to become a witch or something :P ) so I never have read it  But I really don't associate the name Hermione with her- but that's only because I've never read HP! :D

I wouldn't think it's a bad idea to name her Hermione Jean if it wasn't exactly how the book used her name :/ Especially being at this time the new Harry Potter film just came out and the second half to it is on the way!

Of your other names, I think these would be really cute:

~ Stella Jean
~ Jocelyn Jean
~ Adele Jean
~ Luna Jean (love Luna! Just don't have the guts to use it :D )

~ Nolan Andrew
~ Cedric Andrew
~ Miles Andrew
~ Bennett Andrew

Hope I helped! ~ Haddie

I LOVE the way Stella Jean sounds

Lol, I am not a fan of Hermione as a name and in my personal opinion, Hermione Jean is just really weird considering it is exactly a characters name lol.

My favourite boy's name is Bennett Andrew

I LOVE Hermione Jean :)
I haven't read the books either, but I have seen a few of the films, although I like the name Hermione even without the connection to Harry Potter.
I suppose if you wanted a cute nickname you could call her Mia, its a little bit of a stretch from Hermione, but I think it just about works.
Good luck on finding the perfect name :)

I absolutely lover Hermoine. Yes, Harry Potter first got it to my attention, but I also think it's just awesome. Hermoine Jean is cute, but it may be a little too much since that's Hermoine's name from the books. :/

I love:
Fiona ~ I just think this name is adorable! It's perfect for a little girl, and also for an adult.
Luna ~ Luna Jean would be so cute! Luna is also from Harry Potter, not sure if you know that.

I love:
Cedric ~ another Harry Potter name! I absolutely love it, but I don't think I would ever be brave enough to use it. :)
Miles ~ it's not uncommon, but it's not exactly trendy either. Kind of a classic. I think it's great. :)
Henry ~ I love Henry! It's one of my favorite boy names because it's handsome and classic and will never go out of style.
Remus ~ Yet another Harry Potter name! I'm starting to think this isn't a coincidence! :o lol :P I love it! I think it's absolutely perfect. My favorite of the boys names.

I would love to use a lot of HP names! :D

I love Hermione. It sucks when you can't name something someone because of what people think. I was born around the time of Baywatch and since my name is Summer people thought that's who I was named after. But I LOVE Hermione I think its beautiful. And since she is an empowering character, it would be an empowering name. I love it and Hermione Jean Brougher looks like a nice name.

Stella (I don't like Stella Jean together because it sounds like you are saying "stellar jeans" hahaha)
Jocelyn (I don't like Jocelyn Jean because I hate names with alliteration I find them corny)
Alice (Alice is an okay name. Not as powerful as Hermione)
Chloe (Too common)
Adele (Adele Jean would be a very nice name, it looks and sounds nice)
Fiona (Also a nice name, I stil prefer Hermione and Adele)
Luna (Luna Jean is pretty cute, my favourite of your girl names would be Hermione Jean, Adele Jean and Luna Jean)

Boys:

Nolan (I don't like this name only because I know a Nolan and he ruined the name for me. So I won't comment on this name)
Cedric (Cedric Andrew looks really cool, I like this)
Arden (Arden is more of a feminine name I find)
Miles (I prefer Myles over Miles but Myles Andrew is a nice name)
Henry (Henry Andrew, also nice name, but not my favourite)
Roderick (Roderick Andrew is cute, I'm guessing you would nick name him Rod or Rick which I don't really like though)
Bennett (I love Bennett but hopefully doesn't get nicknamed Ben because Ben is very popular)
Remus (My name spelt backwards haha, how do you pronounce this? Remus Andrew looks really cool.)
My favourite boy names would be Cedric Andrew, Miles (Myles) Andrew
