Writers block is an understatement for me right now.

I am writing a story about a woman, Hannah. Who goes to sleep single, fairly happy, and with no children. By the time she wakes up her life is thrown for a loop.

Her brother and sister, plus their spouses, were in a car accident on their way home from a their ‘date’ night. None made it to morning. They left behind their kids.

Hannah flies home to be with her nieces and nephews. She is completely unaware that she has been named the guardian of each of them.

Her friend, Jenny, will later be her partner. Jenny has kid(s) of her own.

What I am having trouble with right now is how many kids it should be. I can not decide if their should 5, 8, 10, 12, or 13 kids in total. I have been leaning more towards the odd numbers, 5 and 13.

Can anyone help me pick the number of kids?

If I go with anything over 6, I have a hard time picking names

Here are the names I’ve come up with:
Girls
- Skyeler Autumn ‘Kylie’
- Lindsey Emmalyn
- Jordan Gracelyn ‘Jorde’
- Jacobi Rain ‘Jack’

Boys
- Kieran Rhys
- Aaden Reid

Name ideas welcome.

i dont even know where to begin. i think if you go much higher than 5 kids you start to get into the realm of overly far fetched and EXTREMELY complicated to follow. not to mention that youre already planning to later add more children by someone else into the mix. so shoot low otherwise youll lose readers as they get frustrated trying to follow all these names. my only issue with your list of names is the Jacobi Rain. while i love the name Jacobi i dont at all believe that you should ever try to use it for a girl and im really not sure where jack comes in from this either again, not a girl. use it for a boy try Ryan for a middle name or Rian if you like the i. so i wont give you anymore names as imo you have plenty

I completely agree with erowyn on all accounts. Plus, Emmalyn and Gracelyn are very close to each other for middle names. I dislike Jordan for a girl as well..and with Jenny and Jacobi you have too many J names in your story.....if you're going to have those six these would be the names I'd choose:

Kylie
Lindsey
Maya
Georgina "Georgie" (if you want a boyish name)

Kieran
Aidan (spelled this way)

Good luck!
