The boyfriend and I went for a bit of a drive yesterday and got to talking about names. I'm not pregnant or anything, but he knows and accepts I like names. He has some very definite opinions, too. He really likes the idea of Mark Charles as a name after both our fathers. Naming-after-grandfathers is a semi-tradition from both our families. Mark is the first name and Charles is the middle.

Neither name is on my list at the moment, or even really the kind I like but I have to concede that it has a great sound and flow, at least to me.
What do you guys think? Oh, and if we actually had a kid the last name would be Willard so it'd be Mark Charles Willard.

It doesn't have the best flow (I prefer 1 syllable first names paired with 3 syllable middles) but since it has meaning and honors the people important to you then it outways the flow issues. Charles Mark Willard would maybe flow a bit better and I like the nn Charlie. But both combinations are nice names.

I agree that I like Charles Mark "Charlie" Willard better. (:

Funny thing, the same thing happened to me! Jon told me that he wanted too name his son Carl, after his great grandfather. At first I hated it, but I eventually fell in love (Carl Jonathan "CJ" is now second on my list).

The family meaning gets to me, and I absolutely adore Jon's great grandfather. (:
