This one goes with my other topic ... http://www.babynameg...?showtopic=9536

I'm still not sure about the name for the main male character but now I'm need help with the main female character "F"

This story takes place in England in the early 1800s. "F" is the only child of Lord _______. Her mother died when she was very young so she and her father are very close and depend on one another. When she is ~17 her father dies and the title and family holdings pass to her father's younger brother. Her father had some personal finances and a second home that were not entailed these he leaves to "F" but since she is a minor everything goes to her gaurdian (the uncle) until she is of age to inherit.

"F" is your typical heroine. Smart, Independent & Adventurous yet she finds herself in situations where she is forced to rely on Vaughn (the main male character).

For "F" I was thinking something classical like Catherine or Alexandra (but I cant use either of these). I also need a last name for her, an old English name like Winchester or Sutherland.

What do you think of...

Victoria
Angeline
or Daphne

Which goes best with Vaughn?

i love Victoria(partly because it's my name :D) but i think it is a classical English name
Angeline and Daphne should a bit modern to me.

the last name Averay (A-ver-ray) would go well with Victoria. Victoria Averay. Averay is a old English surname popular in the 17 and 18 hundreds.

Okay, so you think you like Angeline Townsend,

I think my two favorites are...

Octavia *Tavie* Blackburn & Felicity Winthrop!

They have a sort of fiestiness about them. But it's your story, and I'll probably grow to like whatever you pick. :D

Well Octavia is in one of the Pride & Prejudice books...and I've never been a fan of Octavia, I went to school with a girl named that so I always associate it with her. And Felicity is a bit too 80s to me. Adrianna would be another one that would work, but I prefer Angeline. I like Townsend a lot but you could still persuade me on the last names ... I thought Townsend would be a nice ode to our home away from home. :D

I don't dislike Angeline... I just haven't made up my mind about it yet. :D
If you used Mary Angeline Townsend, what would you call her in the story?

I'm starting to like it more and more. See, I told you it would grow on me!
And I like the Mary part being after her mother. I can see some situations... "Mary Townsend is my mother. I'm Angeline." or something like that. :)
