Gatlin Carpenter

I am one of those nerds who still keep in touch with their past teachers...

My biology teacher recently added a new addition, a grandson.

I got the birth announcement and noticed how not so common this was.

About a week after I heard the name on the infamous show, 'Toddlers & Tiaras', but it was used for a girl!

Thoughts on the name?

On the show they pronounced it Gate-lynn (Girl-ier version?)

I pronounce it Gat-lynn

I would really dislike this name on a girl - it screams boy to me! I like the name okay, but it really reminds me of Gatlinburg in Tennessee.

So boy!! And militaristic haha :P Though I doubt the mother on Toddlers in Tiara's realizes that Gatlin is like a Gatling Gun :) I wonder if they realize how many people will hear Gatlin and think of Gatling... (tbh until today I thought Gatling was spelled as Gatlin cause the G is never hear hahaha). And the sad thing is... I know like nothing about guns! Yet I know about Gatling guns... Here's a pic:

So yeah. I think it could work on a boy because this is a super manly association. Whats more manly than a heavy during firearm?? lol! I hate how in Toddlers and Tiara's they mispronounce it just to make it girlier.. bleck.

Gatlin Carpenter sounds nice, I suppose. I don't care for Carpenter, even though I'm normally a fan of occupational names. I guess it sounds lowly, as most carpenters aren't rich. And every one I meet normally is kinda gross, ie plumbers crack and chain smoking and old and such. Idk. Who knows, maybe many stone masons and archers were like that one day, yet I don't picture those names like that :P

I immediately thought of a Gatling gun as well, which would be like naming your kid Remington or Winchester. Definitely BOY to me. :) I am not a fan of (GATE lyn)...Katelyn with a G, really...
