James mentioned today he likes the name Kate. Not as a nickname or anything but simply Kate. It isn't bad but my issue is Kate and Cadie (kay-dee) might be too similar. What do you think?

Personally, yeah, Kate and Cadie sound too close. I could see the names Katelyn and Cadence with the nicknames Kate and Cadie but just Kate as a name is to similar.

Yeah... I would say they're a bit too close.

Well I know that I have a weird accent but when I say Cadie and Katie they sound exactly the same so Kate and Cadie sound pretty much the same too. So yeah I think that they are too close. Sorry :(

I do think they're a bit too close, unfortunately. Maybe you could use Kate as a middle name?

I agree with the other ladies... they're a tad close for me.

What about using it as a middle name? Unless you want Cordelia  (Or another C name!) and then it might be a little repetitive.

Yeah, pretty much the same.
