Jessica Simpson gave birth to a baby girl, Maxwell Drew Johnson, in L.A. Tuesday morning, Us Weekly can confirm. This is her first child with fiance Eric Johnson. "Eric and I are elated to announce the birth of our baby Maxwell Drew Johnson 9 lbs. 13 oz. 21 3/4," Simpson wrote on her website Tuesday. ""We are so grateful for all of the love, support and prayers we have received. This has been the greatest experience of our lives!"

One baby at 9 pounds? I thought she was having twins. lol Not a fan of the name at all, but I've seen worse.

I know there is a signficance to the name Maxwell. I think it is her fiance's grandmother's maiden name? IDK. I think Maxwell isn't TOO bad for a girl. (A friend of mine's son is Maxwell.) It would have been nicer with a more feminine middle name.

I think it's adorable. :( I read they're going to call her by Maxi instead of Maxwell <3

I got that huge with both of my babies, and they were 8lbs 15 oz and 8lbs and 6oz
so I can imagine how relieved she was when the baby wasn't the size of a rhino :)
Just hope she realizes that any others are more than likely going to be that big ;)

Not a fan at all.

Poor kid, she's going to have so many issues with her name. Drew is ok for a girl but Maxwell? Ugh I hope that doesn't become a trend!

SMH, really don't like Maxwell for a little girl. Drew Maxwell would have been better! I know they plan on calling her Maxi or Maxie (sp?). Poor kid, going to have other kids, bullies, calling her Maxi-Pad!

It's ok. I would have preferred Maxine Drew.
And I think the nickname Max would 2billion times better than Maxie...too many teasing opportunities!

Maxwell Drew is a cute name... for a boy!

Maxine or something would have been nicer.

But strangely, I don't actually HATE it

Adorable for a little boy, and girl? Meh.

I actually know a boy named Max, from a camp I went to, he earned the nick name Maxi Pad from all the other guys XD

Agreed that it would have been better on a boy.... I would love it :(

But Maxwell on a girl? I would use the nickname Elle.
I can see how she would find it feminine. Kind of like Spencer, Rowan and Reese that all have very soft sounds.
Would have preferred Drew Maxine or something of the like... but to each their own, I suppose.

The name isn't all that bad...at least it has significant meaning! It flows nicely together, however I think it would make the name look a little more feminine as Maxwell Dru, personally. And the nickname potential is really cute, to me anyways; Maxi or Max? (which I personally like on a little girl, it's cute!)

Drew is alright I guess, I've seen Drew and Drue on a girl but I still like it one boys better. Maxwell is just......bleh on a girl, though if they're calling her Maxi the NN is cute.
