I've always loved the name Brighton for a boy, but recently I've seen lots of people using it on girls. What are your thoughts?
Boy or Girl name?

It feels very masculine in my opinion.. I know its a place name, but I knew some people with the surname Brighton so it feels surnamey to me. And most surnames feel more masculine imo. Plus I know more masculine "Bry" and "ton" names then I do feminine ones <3

I agree with Remy. I know a boy named Bright, though, so that may be influencing my decision.

Er....Brighton is a UK seaside town.
Poor child for anyone called that.

I voted boy, only because i remember the show 'the nanny' and the son was called Brighton!

That's exactly what this name made me think of! I can hear Fran calling "Brighton!!" lol. I would say strictly boy, but not my style.

I live near a place called Brighton so it's hard for me to picture it on a child. I'd say boy though, it definitely feels more masculine

I was going to say the same as the pp's. Brighton to me is a boys name because of the show The Nanny. I think it's a great boys name. I guess it's different when you know a town with that name. The town I live in is called Dalton and that's a pretty common boys name and it just sounds weird to me because I live here. But place names are extremely common, especially in the US where I live.
