I have fallen in love with the name Jordy. I used to HATE it, but recently fell in love with it. The problem is, I could NEVER name my kid a "nickname" like Maggie or Tye and I'm not a big fan of Jorden though I prefer it of Jordan, Jordyn or Jordon.

Any suggestions for full names it could be a nick name for, I was thinking Jayson, but I don't know. any middle name suggestions? I was thinking Hezekiah....

Thank you so much!

~Eden

There is this TV show here in Australia called Neighbours and one of the actor's real name is Jordy (I am assuming it's just Jordy), but she is a girl?? Have you contemplated it for a girl?

I can't think of any names you could use it as a nn for, but I do think Jordy on it's own is alright.

I have thought of it for a girl! I don't mind it all that much, spelled Jordie. That would be a GP though. I think Jordy on its own sounds to "babyish" like say I named my son Jordy Matthew Walton. and he grew up to be a lawyer. and someone calls his office "Hello, this is Jordy Walton speaking."

See what I mean?

Jordy is nice, I think if you named him Jayson Dean or something Jordie would make a lot of sense as a nick name! :P Or even something like Joseph Daniel, Josiah Declan, John Donovan, etc. Using a first/middle name thing would make a lot of names work for the nick name Jordy!

Hope that helps some <3

Thanks Haddie! I never thought of that! I always wanted to name two of my sons: James-Robert Thomas (Jim-Bob) and John-David ?Jeremiah? so It might be a cute nickname for John-David!

This is kinda like me and Avery. My friend Blaine has a brother named Avery. Then when people said it was for a girl I'm like "NO WAY!"

I think Jordy as a nick name for John-David would be nice! And, it would shorten John David up a bit being it is slightly a mouthful :D

A lot of names are like that- association kind of rules :D I used to be firm into Avery only being a boys name just because until a met this adorable little girl named Avery and she was the cutest thing! Same with many names, such as Maeve, Tahlia, Rose, Anneliese, etc. I used to dislike them greatly until I found a good association for them :) Not that those four names had anything to do with gender, but they were names that I started liking because of an association. :) Same goes for disliking as well, sadly. I know so many not so great Tylers in my life I couldn't possibly be paid billions to name my child Tyler :'( I do like the name, but it haunts me a bit D: So sad, cause Ty is such an adorable nick name and I could totally go for Ty! Maybe Tyson... just no more Tyler for me :P

I know how you feel Haddie! I LOVE the name Carson, more and more as I think about it now! I LOVE IT! But, I have a "devil" ok, shouldn't call him that, in my class. He can be SO mean. So I could NEVER name my son that. Though, I might be drawn to use Karsen as a middle name. (That didn't have anything to do with Gender either! lol)
