So me and my SO can't come up with any boy names that we agree on,
I like names like Jackson, Rhys, Carter and he likes names like Algrenon, Hernest and Earl,
Which I would never even contemplate naming my child!!!!

Anybody think they can find some middle ground?

Ahh I love Algernon! And Jackson and Carter, too.

It seems you have two options: making a combo of one name you like and one name he likes (preferably with you each pegging the other person's selection as "tolerable"), such as Jackson Earl, or finding a name that fits both styles

I'll suggest some ideas for the second option:

You seem to like well-known modern, trendier names and he seems to like uncommon vintage names with history. So I'll search out some vintage names with a modern-ish sound, with varying popularity.

Silas

Van

Digby

Jasper

Fergus

Audie

Vincent

Otto

Roscoe

Tobias

Montgomery

Ezra

Melvin

Archie (Archer)

Asa

Calvin

Thoreau

Like any? Want more?

It seems to me that your husband is interested in more old-fashioned names whereas you prefer modern ones.

Here are some "antique" names that still sound contemporary:

Arthur

Asher

Atticus

Beckett

Bennett

Bentley

Caleb

Charles

Dexter

Edmund

Edward

Eli

Elliott

Everett

Finnegan / Finnian

Felix

Franklin

Graham

Grayson

Harrison

Harry

Harvey

Henry

Hugo

Isaac

Jasper

Jude

Leo

Lincoln

Miles

Milo

Nathaniel

Oliver

Owen

Sawyer

Silas

Theodore

Vincent

Wesley

William

Wyatt
