I'm writing a story set in the 1920s and am trying to find the perfect name for one of my main characters. It's between Arlo Gunner Clayton, Dean Dallas Clayton, and Alec Earl Clayton. The last name isn't set in stone, I just thought Clayton went nicely with all of my choices. If you wouldn't mind, I'd also like some opinions on my second main character, who I have named Lila Marilyn Maycrown. I am aware that all four of these names sound like southern millionaires with a hidden agenda on a cheesy soap opera, but they have a certain 1920s feel to them. Please give me your feedback.

My favorite of the boys names is Alec Earl Clayton. It just has great flow about it...I could even see him being called "Alec Earl"
I adore the name Arlo but not with Gunner. What about Arlo Stanley Clayton, Arlo Bruce Clayton, Arlo Marion Clayton, Arlo Sidney Clayton or even Arlo Dean Clayton.
I really like Lila Marilyn Maycrown. Definitely a southern belle name

I agree with Katie. Lila Marilyn Maycrown sounds great. Arlo is my favorite boy name from your ideas, but I don't like Gunner with it.
