We're getting my Papa a puppy today as an early Father's Day present. We need help picking the name! It's a Red, Male Dachshund Puppy! My Papa always wants a pre-made list of names every time he gets a dog so we need help! Any type of name will do! Real quick though, you need a little back ground on what's happening.

Ok, so my grandfather is WAAAAY into Miniture Dachshunds and has always had at least 3 at time (had 8 once). Well up until 2 months ago he had 4, two males and two females. About a month or so ago we had to put the oldest one, Quasar (Kway-zar), down due to cancer and a stroke and he was a 15 year old Red one. His favorite one, Star AKA Girly-Girl, was a 2 year old female and whats called a Double Dapple (White and Black spots, splotches, specks and streaks) and because of this, as it is a harmful, genetic mutation and irresponsible breeding, she was born without eyes and partially deaf but one of the sweetest most loving and playful dogs I have ever seen and we took her because they were going to stone her to death. (Yeah......sad world. It was their fault and they were gonna kill her in such a way.....) But any way, the night before last she came up missing and this morning we found her remains, she had been attacked by coyotes and my Papa is distraught. We originally got him Star because his other dog, Pooch, died when he was hit by a car and at the time he said he didn't want her and by the next morning he said "Well......ok, maybe we can keep her....since she has no where else to go." And she was his absolute favorite. We got a call today, as if by fate, from our vet, who knows he loves Dachshunds, saying that a red male puppy had come in the night Star disappeared. We are going to pick him up in a few hours without my Papa's knowledge, as a surprise as my Papa has depression issues and is extremely upset at the loss of Star. We're hoping this new puppy will get some life back into him cause even though its only been a few days there's a dramatic difference in his behavior.

If it helps, these are the names of dogs we've had in the past (all Mini Dachshunds):

Also, small side note if it will help you any, my Papa's two favorite things in the world are old music (Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Carl Perkins, etc etc) and Vintage Cars.

You could do Priscilla, after Elvis' wife.

I mentioned you guys thinking of Elvis to name him and he snapped up and looked at me when I told him and my Papa said, "Well, that reaction was deserved! He's officially Elvis!" So he has a name! Thanks guys!
