I've been set on the name Felix (Félix) for almost a year now and my husband really likes it too. We aren't expecting yet but it's only a matter of time! I was trying to think of a good nickname and came up with Lex. What do you think? It's not too much of a stretch is it? Would you assume his name were Alexander etc if you heard it? Suggestions welcome but I should mention I found "Flick" and "Lix/Licks" online and I'm really not at all a fan!

For me 'Lex' is a female nn for Lexi, Alex, Alexa, Alexandria and Alexandra etc and if a man was called Alexander we would call him Al or Xander... IMO 'Lex' is female as my name is Lexi-Diane and it gets shortened to Lex all the time and I personally couldn't put the name Lex to a man, Have you thought about Fil? It's a long shot but it's more masculine :) L x

I can see it for a boy very well. I would assume his name is really Alexander, yes, but that's not necessarily bad. Felix is a very nice name, it's cute standalone. My favorite nickname for Felix is Eli. I also know a Felix who goes by "X."

I LOVE both the name Felix and the nn Lex, but I never thought about using it that way... how cute!
