OK, working on a new idea... First part of the book is about a fairly normal, young family. The MC, Elizabeth Jane *Lizzie, gets married to the man of her dreams. They have a couple of kids. She lives the American dream. Then, she suddenly wakes up, in a hospital. Her parents are there, she is confused, asking for her husband and kids. Her parents tell her she is not married, has no kids, and has been in a coma for 8 months. The next part of the book is about Lizzie going through therapy; learning to deal with reality and discovering who she is. At the end, she is in a hospital exam room, waiting to meet a new doctor who specializes in brain injuries. The man who walks in is the man she believed she was married to; he looks the same, brown hair, light caramel brown eyes, 6'2", athletic build, adorable dimples when he smiles. Lizzie is sure it is just someone who looks like the husband everyone tells her she dreamt. Then, the last line of the book, "Hello, I am Dr. ????" The name is the exact same name her husband had! Only thing, I can't figure out the perfect name for him!!! It should be a strong, intelligent name, but also have a fresh feel to it. HELP, please!!!

MC: Elizabeth Jane Davis *Lizzie / Elizabeth Jane Bradley *Lizzie

MC's Parents - Richard and Pamela Bradley *Rick and Pam

MC's ??? Husband: ? ? Davis

I will figure out the kids' and friends' names once I figure out her questionable husband / doctor's name. If you have suggestions though, feel free to post them!

Sounds like a great story! If you feel comfortable with doing so, you should post it on BNG. I would definitely read it. The suggestions above pretty much sums it up. The only suggestion I will make is that Elizabeth goes by Beth instead of Lizzie. :-)

So far, I like...

Andrew Davis
Sterling Davis

maybe Trey Davis, especially if he was the III

what do you guys think...

Andrew Sterling Davis, III nn Trey
Andrew Sterling Davis, no nn
Andrew Sterling Davis, nn Drew
Andrew Sterling Davis, nn Andy
Sterling Andrew Davis (his initials would be SAD, would this matter???)

other thoughts?

Which nn do you like for Elizabeth, Beth or Lizzie?

Thanks!!!

I think I like Andrew Sterling, nn Drew

As for nicknames, I think I like Lizzie in her dream because it is an affectionate name, but maybe if you wanted to use Beth, she could wake up having her parents calling her Beth as she has always gone by that, but she now demands they call her Lizzie.

IDK just an idea :)

I really like Trey for the nickname. Andrew Sterling Davis III

And I like the idea of Lizzie or Liz for Elizabeth.

Megan - the idea of using Beth/Lizzie is appealing to me. I'm working that through right now.

Was bouncing ideas off my hubby last night. He, like most, jump to the conclusion she was dreaming. My goal is to have people think this, then at the very end be questioning themselves on what really happened. Was it just a dream? Was she caught up in a parallel universe somehow? Does she posess some paranormal activity and forsaw the future? With that, I'm REALLY leaning to either making the husband/doctor a III or giving him a more unique first name. Sterling is staying, somewhere, fn or mn. I need the name to stick out though. Something that a reader could not just pass off as a coincidence at the end of the book.

Thoughts / suggestions??? Do I need to create a more unique surname or is Davis ok??? Some ideas... wdyt???

Randolph Sterling Kilpatrick *Rand *Dr. Rand Kilpatrick
Sterling Andrew Davis *Sterling *Dr. Sterling Davis
Bingham Sterling Davenport *Bing *Dr. Bing Davenport
Bradford Sterling Davis *Ford *Dr. Ford Davis
Griffith Sterling Davis *Griff *Dr. Griffith Davis
Harrison Sterling Davenport *Harris *Dr. Harris Davenport
Porter Sterling Kilpatrick *Porter *Dr. Porter Kilpatrick
Sterling Jones Davenport *Sterling *Dr. Sterling Davenport
Thaddeus Sterling Kilpatrick *Thad *Dr. Thad Kilpatrick

*I could make any of them a Jr, III, etc.

So far, only Sterling is sticking with me. Your ideas, comments would be greatly appreciated. Ah, yes, he does have to have a middle name. First paragraph in the book is Lizzie/Beth exchanging vows with DH/Doctor. THANKS!!!

I must say I love Randolph Sterling Kilpatrick. Probably because my boyfriend's name is Randolf, but it is an uncommon name that isn't easily forgotten.

My second choice would be Sterling Jones Davenport.

Oh, and I'm so glad you liked Sterling! For some reason it just popped into my brain! :) Good luck! I love the story premise.

Thanks Megan. I really like Randolph Sterling Kilpatrick with the nn Rand. I don't know why but the name "Rand" won't leave my brain. I think my character is naming himself!!!
