my name is anissa, the i sounds like e, and my husband's name is levi. I'm only about ten weeks pregnant but we are trying to figure out unique names for our baby to be. I love antera elora, and he hates it. And for a boy we are both stumped! Help!

It depends on what you class as unique. :D

'Made-up' names?
Like Ameldria?
Or names that have been used, but are less common?
Like Sinead? ♥

Antera is okay but if I am pronouncing it correctly it sounds like Aunt Tara. It also brings to mind the SUV and I very much dislike naming babies after cars.

Elora is pretty. I'm also a big fan of Enola...it is native american and means solitary. WDYT?

Yes you are pronouncing it correctly. For some reason i'm in love with that name. As for naming my child after a car, i do not want to do that. Yuck!

it's not that he didn't like any. He is just very very picky. Which is understandable. And any and all suggestions are welcome. :D

Hehe, I must say that any name is unique if you chose it out for a reason, such as meaning, honoring someone, or some people, etc.

If you want to get a "made up" name, you could even try mixing family members names together to get a nice name!

I can't say I'm very good with making up names, but I can definitely give you some names that are unusual, rarely used or just plain different! :P

~ Juniper
~ Caylia/Kaylea
~ Luna
~ Saffron
~ Lyric
~ Juno/Junia
~ Celestia
~ Leonie
~ Saskia
~ Lenka
~ Isla
~ Hadley
~ Rianne
~ Sorena
~ Saoirse (seer-sha, a personal fav of mine, actually! :P )
~ Keira
~ Aisha
~ Pepin

~ Amias
~ Breccan
~ Titus
~ Nico
~ Flint
~ Elias
~ Matthias
~ Afton
~ Roman/Romanov
~ Nikolai (hehe, my fav... <3)

Sorry it isn't many :D But yes, here they are!

If you want some really unique names also, you could look at a foreign languages names! I've been looking at Russian names for boys, and Irish/Gaelic and Chinese for girls. I have found some really great names within them!

But, if your husbands being choosy, tell him to write a list of names he likes that you can maybe pick from? Ask what types of names he likes? Cause if he likes traditional, you could always use a "unique" name and a traditional to make a combo, or even a name! Like instead of Nicholas, use Nikolai. Or instead of Matthew, is Matthias :P On nameberry.com, they have different lists of names, one of them being a "coolenator" or something like that... which takes a traditional name and adds a modern twist!

Well, hope I helped!

~ Haddie
