WHY Do Sophia, Isabella and Emma have to be on there?!!! -growl-

I wish they were a little more underused... but they ARE gorgeous names.. so ;D

Jacob, Noah, Lucas and Liam are on the top of my list, so this makes me a little sad.

But I keep having to remind myself that it's not like I'm having a kid now!

Hopefully by the time I'm ready to OVER-populate the world, these names will have faded slightly. ♥

I love how most of the names girl names end in A and most of the boy names end in the -an sound!

Aiden, Jayden, Logan, Caden, Maddison, Addison, for example. A lot of more trendier names are making it to the top 10!

Aww, tis so sad that my favorite names are in the trend :'D I guess my opinion for a "good" name is too similar to other peoples opinions :)

Ah well, thankfully I'm not having a baby any time soon! Maybe seven years from now the trend will fade a little and a new trend will come about.... as long as our top ten names don't turn out looking like:

Emmaleighna, Jevraneice, Goursha, Temptress, Evilyn, Callyndur, Kokoleaver, Jymmyboob, Druncurd and Jump.

Rayker, Mass-Pogojumpers, Nunununun, Draynige, Blumbard, Ashundrara, Nyncumpuup, Klalalala, Cmndjhjksd and Dlurasyndermike

Then I don't mind people thinking the same as I! :D :P :o

Some woman on the polls said her name was Emmaleighna or something like that and it made me cry inside :)

Well, all I can say is at least people aren't using ridiculous names to a point where they are making the top ten!

I still adore Olivia, Emma, Lily, Noah and Liam, even if they are in the top ten!

Yeah well if you read the article it says that they combined all spellings of a name to get the most accurate count. So Sophia is the most popular name but it could be spelled any which a way...Sofia, Sofya, Sophyah, Sofeah... :\

Which is basically my point when it comes to Unique names...just spelling it a different way doesnt make it unique, just hard to spell.

I'm extremely happy Grace didn't make the list! I wonder what place it earned on the popularity chart..
Thankfully, none of these are on my list, even though they are fairly pretty. {there's gotta be a reason they're popular, after all! :)}

My favorite for the girls would have to be.. er, Emma? Hm, I don't really know. Probably Sofia with this spelling.

It's easier for boys... my favorites are definitely Lucas + Liam!

Darn, that's still pretty high. I hope the madness of tryndee names will make it disappear a little bit, so that it will be more 'safe' to use it in the future.
By the way, both your nieces have gorgeous names :)

So, this might be one of those "Which came first, the chicken or the egg?" kind of questions: Are these names so popular and used because they are our favorite baby names, or are they our favorite baby names because they are so popular and we hear them all the time?

I know 2 Emmas and 1 Olivia, and I don't know any Sophias or Isabellas. But I do love these names. So then I was surprised to find them on the top of the list.

I like to think we in the baby name circuit are ahead of the game and can therefore predict or "like" what will soon be popular.

Then again maybe we are just like others in the herd and our favorites are influenced by popular culture just like everybody else.

Thanks for posting this! I am not really surprised by any of them though I would have thought that Aidan was the more popular spelling.

I won't use any of the girl names, so this list makes me kinda happy. :)

However, Aiden, Jacob, and Liam are all on my list. :)
